Manaconda: The Second Coming by Taryn Elliot and Cari Quinn gives readers a conclusion to the first book. We finally get to see what happens with Kennedy and Hunter. The last book left off with Hunter getting into a fight with his friend and bandmate over Hunter’s ex-fiancé and with Kennedy thinking Hunter still has feelings for the ex.
We have to remember that Hunter is a man and men sometimes don’t think the way we do. Hunter wants nothing to do with the ex, he’s just worried that she will mess up his friend like the way she did to him. Once Hunter has a chance to cool down, he realizes Kennedy misinterpreted his actions and must make it right. He doesn’t want to lose Kennedy, they formed a special bond, so he starts to woo her.
“The lure of a man who cared about feeding a woman couldn’t be denied.”
Kennedy is miserable without Hunter and when he conspires with her friend, to get her to see him, it’s clear just how much she missed him. You can tell he really wanted to make things right with her because he does a great job at proving why he and Kennedy are meant for the long haul. Food and a little communication is all it takes for Kennedy and Hunter to sort themselves out.
My only issue with this serial is that it didn’t need to be split up into installments. It really should have just been one book. We also don’t get a resolution to why Hunter’s friend was with his ex-fiancé. They guy told Hunter it’s not what it looked like and to trust him, but that’s it. We don’t get any answers.
Overall, I enjoyed Hunter and Kennedy’s story and if you enjoy hot rock stars and the instant love trope, this one is a good pick.

You know that awful sound your stereo makes when you drag your needle over a record?
For those of you that have never listened to a record…shame on you. Dude, go Google that shit right now. Better yet, buy a record player and get your learn on.
Anyway, that sound that makes you wince and leap for the volume? Yeah. That’s the soundtrack of my life right now.
I got the girl and I lost her. I wasn’t supposed to. That wasn’t in the script.
Now I gotta Ferris Bueller this shit and pull a parade out of my ass to get the girl back.
