REVIEW: Manwhore +1 by Katy Evans

In Manwhore +1 by Katy Evans, Rachel was warned by her best friends that taking the assignment to expose millionaire businessman Malcolm Saint’s innermost life to the world would most likely not end well. Little did she know how right they would be. Falling in love with the mysterious playboy was not on the agenda. The sequel to Katy Evans’ explosive novel Manwhore is finally here! And there is a whole lot to be happy about. Incredible chemistry continued to wreak havoc between Saint and Rachel while they also dealt with trust issues and career shifts.

“It’s hard when everyone stares at the man you want, and you want him to want nobody but you.”

If you haven’t read book one, I would highly suggest doing so before starting this as it picks up exactly where the other left off. And what a dramatic ending book one had. Whew. I knew Rachel would be devastated emotionally to start off with in Manwhore +1. Katy Evans did a fantastic job describing Rachel’s thoughts and her everyday struggles until Saint reappeared in her life. As you could expect, everything got more complicated–and more passionate–once they began talking to each other again.

Rachel and Saint’s romance was a whirlwind from the beginning and things still moved right along this time around as well. It felt natural, though, that they would quickly be inseparable again. I did like that they tried to rebuild a foundation of trust between them given what happened in book one. Saint and Rachel’s friends were supportive but still kind of held their collective breath until they saw how things would play out, which seemed realistic.

I adored the ending and I’m sorry I can’t explain more about it, but it was so heartfelt. *happy sigh* I was a little surprised that the drama that had been building through the story didn’t really come to a head, but instead kind of fizzled out on its own. Still, it was an awesome end to the book. Keep in mind that there will be a novella finishing out the series, titled Ms. Manwhore, coming out soon. I cannot wait for that!! I’m also hoping we may get something about Saint’s or Rachel’s BFFs in the future…
