Maybe This Christmas by Jennifer Snow: Asher’s focus is hockey and only hockey. But when his brother, on another team, gives him a hit bad enough to take Asher out of the game for a few weeks, Asher’s forced to take more into consideration.
Emma has been best friends, and friends with benefits, with Asher for years. But she’s beginning to want more. Although she’s loved him for years, she’s becoming less willing to be there on the side of his hockey.
As Emma makes plans to begin a graduate program across the country, Asher has to reconcile his own feelings for Emma and how his dedication to hockey can fit.
I’ve never like the heroine who will spend years pining after a friend expecting him to notice her as his forever. But I really did like Emma. She’s strong and she knows who she is. At times her devotion definitely bothered me, particularly when it might affect her schooling, but, as this is a romance, all worked out for the best.
I both liked and hated Asher. He was so stubborn and annoying and hardheaded, but when he did come to accept emotions or facts, he became much more lovable. Overall, I liked these two as a couple, once they were finally able to break through that barrier.
For those who like an athlete romance, I definitely recommend Maybe This Christmas by Jennifer Snow. It’s a good read, sexy and quick. The novel can be read as a standalone, but it might be nice to read from the beginning to get a better sense of the family community and brotherly rivalries!

All wrapped up . . .
One more game. That’s all that stands between NHL star Asher Westmore and a major career milestone. But then his brother bashes him against the hockey boards, sidelining him for months. Over Christmas holidays, no less. If staying off the ice doesn’t drive him crazy, staying with his family will. The only bright spot amidst the mistletoe and twinkle lights: His best friend, Emma, is a physical therapist. And working out with her improves his body and his spirit.
One last time. Emma Callaway was in trouble the minute she and Asher added benefits to their friendship. How is she supposed to resist a funny, caring guy who makes her toes curl? Her heart was safe while he lived in a different state. Now that he’s back home recuperating, though, it’s only a matter of time before she blurts out her feelings. Emma’s only hope is that with a little holiday magic, she’ll get the best Christmas gift of all.
