In Miami, Mistletoe and Murder by Katie Reus, Travis has just finished a big job for Red Stone Security and is given a week off. Little does he realize what the week will bring!
Travis finds himself at Noel’s coffee shop a lot. She is someone he likes to talk to and she has “…been the subject of his fantasies for the better part of a year.” On this day, he finds Noel in need of help and doesn’t hesitate to jump in, neither of them dreaming that the help would result in a deadly chase. Travis makes no apologies for who he is or what he does – will Noel be able to handle this when Travis ends up helping more than either of them anticipated? What Travis doesn’t know is that Noel has been lusting after him for months too.
The mutual attraction between Noel and Travis grows quickly…they already know each other and neither is looking for a one night stand. Due to circumstances, they are together a lot…and someone is after one of them – someone who doesn’t want one of them to have a future. Can Travis protect Noel and himself from a madman?
Katie gives us a fast paced, suspenseful romance filled with heat and mystery. She blends the two well together, and Miami, Mistletoe and Murder flows smoothly from scene to scene. I really liked both of the main characters! They are both mature, and have a few surprises in store for the other! Especially Travis!
Travis is alpha, strong, and very protective. He gets the job done and goes after what he wants. Inside he has had his issues…but these have helped shape who he is today. Noel is independent, loves Christmas, wants to protect those she cares for, but at the same time she is a smart woman who accepts help. That is a characteristic I absolutely love in a heroine! Katie gives us brief background information on both Noel and Travis…enough so that you can understand them better, but not so much that you are reliving their pasts instead of watching them head for the future. This was perfectly done for a novella, I wasn’t left with unanswered questions! The pace of Miami, Mistletoe and Murder was also perfect, I was never bored, and although it was a quick read I was left very satisfied.
Miami, Mistletoe and Murder is a Christmas novella, but it can be read at any time of year! I didn’t find Christmas to be a major theme in this book. Miami, Mistletoe and Murder is part of the Red Stone Security series by Katie Reus, but can definitely be read as a stand alone.
I’d recommend Miami, Mistletoe and Murder by Katie Reus to any romance reader who likes a lot of heat between the suspense!

As one of Red Stone Security’s best contractors, Travis is trained for almost any situation. But nothing prepares him for the most dangerous threat of all: the one to his heart.
Kind-hearted Noel Baskov’s only wish for the holidays is that her Miami coffee shop has a successful Christmas season. But her focus on work is interrupted when the family of the young girl she mentors is threatened, and the man she’s been lusting after for months steps in to handle it. Unfortunately the danger is far from over. Can this sexy and mysterious warrior protect Noel, or will he be the one to shatter her heart?
Warning: features a heroine determined to fight for those she cares about, a protective hero with a very interesting piercing, and some holiday magic.
