Moment of Weakness by Toni J. Strawn: Abby doesn’t do relationships. She’s a player. She has sex, but Moment of Weaknessthat’s all it can ever be. She even has rules that she follows. Only players, only sex, and only one night. There are reasons why she’s like that, though. Abby had her heart broken in the worst way. Her fiancée cheated on her and if that wasn’t bad enough, just wait to you hear who he cheated with… Abby’s sister.

It gets worse, though, Abby’s whole family knew and didn’t think to mention it to her. I can’t imagine going through something like that so I can see why Abby stays away from relationships, but when she meets Marcus, things start to change.

As soon as Abby and Marcus lay eyes on each other, the attraction is instant. She wants him but acknowledges that he’s not someone to play with. Can Marcus get past her defenses and make her break her rules?

Abby got on my nerves during the story. I understand she was hurt badly, but eventually enough is enough, and you have to learn to get past it, so you can live your life. I think Marcus gave Abby too many chances. Abby is too blasé about her feelings for Marcus and continues to refuse him, even though she feels something for him.

“You came. You saw. I conquered.”

I enjoyed how the female of the story is the one who is the player. That was different for me. I also liked the writing. It was easy to read and the style was enjoyable. Overall it was a good story, but not something I would read again. Plenty of sex, but I would have liked to see more character development.

The rules of engagement are clear: it’s all-out war. And their hearts are on the line.

It’s not that Abby Harkness’s ex cheated. Hell, it’s not even that he did the dirty with her own sister. The worst part? Everyone—even her own mother—knew about it before she did.

These days, Abby’s nomadic job makes it easy to stick to the rules that protect her heart. Rule number one: Never stay in any man’s bed more than one night. But when a carefully planned tryst falls through, she finds herself stranded in a boardroom—naked—with the one man who makes her body scream danger.

Three hours of mind-blowing sex later, Marcus Brookhein walks out of the boardroom feeling like he just lost. That doesn’t sit with someone who lives and breathes competition. Next time, he’s making the rules. Starting by getting her assigned to work side by side with him.

Abby is desperate not to repeat a night of pleasure that left cracks in her carefully constructed defenses. But four long weeks of close proximity loom before her. And Marcus has a lot to teach her about playing dirty…
