Mr. Nice Spy by Tiana Smith: Do we ever really know the lives of our parents before they became parents? Well for pyrotechnics engineer Andee Paxton the answer is definitely not. Who would have ever thought that her father, Holt, is none other than a dangerous and wanted arms dealer now on the run after escaping prison? Well when the CIA come knocking on Andee’s door asking her to help catch her father, she has little to no choice but to say yes of course… well that is until she winds up getting herself and her hottie agent, Adam Chan, kidnapped. Now if Andee and Adam have any hope of outsmarting their kidnappers and catching Holt before he accomplishes his plans of world domination then they just have to, you know for their own safety, fake a rather passionate relationship, stage a few explosions and rely on each other if they want to save everyone.

Mr. Nice Spy was a brilliant combination of action, suspense, drama and some saucy romance. This book hit the mark when it came to drawing the reader in with a very Mission Impossible meets Johnny English style of romcom read. I loved that we get equal parts drama and romance as Andee and Adam try to figure out how to outsmart a criminal mastermind. In short if you are like me and enjoyed the first book in this series then you are most definitely going to love this one!

While Andee might have been a bit of an oddball, I really found myself liking her character. She was headstrong, opinionated and didn’t always play to well in a team. What I liked about her character was the fact that she was your regular girl finding her feet in her first big job, she came across as relatable and easy to like. While she might have used humor as her safely blanket at the start of the novel, I have to say I enjoyed getting to see her grow more sure of herself as the book progressed. Now for our hero the real Mr Nice Spy, Adam was just adorable. He was the brains man, not you kicking butt and gun weilding action hero, well not anymore at least. I found his really cute and refreshing to see the hero being the more calm and level head one in this kind of book. Though I do have to say I rather enjoyed getting to see him finally take charge of the situation, using both smarts and brawn.

The chemistry between Andee and Adam was just the sweetest. These two might have had a more close door romance but I found that it jusy worked with this book. I loved that we got to see the build up of their relationship and seeing them dance around their attraction for each other, though I think I would have preferred had this been told in duel pov. While we know right from the get go that Andee clearly has feelings for Adam, we don’t really know for sure how Adam feels until the very end.

All I  all I really enjoyed reading Mr. Nice Spy, this book was filled with humor, a sweet slow burn romance and some action suspense to keep things interesting. Definitely worth a read!

Andee Paxton knows she’s good at her job as a fireworks designer. What she doesn’t know is that her biological father is Holt, a dangerous arms dealer who has escaped prison. And now he’s searching for his long-lost daughter-dearest.

After the CIA surprises her with this news, they drop another bombshell: they want to use Andee as bait to capture Holt once and for all. But before the CIA can even attempt to spring their trap, she’s kidnapped along with the very hot Officer Adam Chan—all because they were too busy flirting to worry about silly things like “safety protocol.”

A fake relationship—for their protection, of course—and just a few explosions bring Andee and Chan closer, but there’s more than their growing connection at stake. If Holt’s plan succeeds, the world will be brought to its knees. Andee and Chan must rely on each other to stop him…or else everything (including their feelings for each other) might just blow up in their faces.
