I really wanted to love Must Love Cowboys (Cowboy Heaven #2) by Cheryl Brooks, I mean, it has cowboys, HOT cowboys, and who would not love that. I just found it really really hard to connect with the characters. The story had potential, but the connection was just not there for me. This is the story of Tina and Wyatt.
Tina Hayes is a computer geek who gave up her job, her apartment and her life to help take of her grandfather. After his passing, she is asked, in his will to take his ashes to the Tetons of Wyoming and to deliver some old letters to his army buddy on the Circle Bar K ranch. Tina has never really had a boyfriend, is a very very very shy woman who cannot even look the cowboys on the ranch in the eye. But when problems arise, Tina will make a decision to stay at the ranch and lend a hand.
Wyatt McCabe has secrets and a past that make him question if he is good for anyone. But there is something about Tina that draws him in, and makes him stand up and take notice. When cut fences and a mystery man show up on the Circle Bar K, Wyatt will need to step up his game and help figure out what is really going on before someone ends up dead.
Ok, this book has a bit of a mystery to it, which kept me interested. I thought that the connection between Wyatt and Tina was weak. I mean, this is a girl that is so nervous around men that she can’t even look them in the eye. Then BAM, she is making out with not one but two cowboys, flirting with just about all of the cowboys on the ranch. Then drops them all like a hot potato and hooks up with Wyatt. All of this in the span of 3 days.
Let’s talk about the mystery. There was this big build up, and then again, BAM it was over. It all felt rushed. And the relationship between Tina and Wyatt went from 0 to 160 in no time flat. I believe that this story has potential to be really good, but the connection was missing, the story felt rushed, and in the end, the HEA was just not believable.
