My Vampire Plus-One by Jenna Levine: Amelia Collins is successful at everything that she does, well everything that is except dating. With a family wedding coming up the last thing that Amelia wants is to have to deal with the never ending steam of questions about her lack of a relationship, which is how she finds herself in a fake relationship with the slightly strange but incredibly handsome and charming stranger she bumps into on the street. Sounds crazy right, but there is something about Reginald that makes him feel like the perfect guy to keep her family off her back. After being around for centuries, playing the role of a fake boyfriend sounds rather fun for Reginald, never mind the fact that after all these years he has finally found someone that genuinely intrigues him… the question is will his dark secret put a fang in the works of what is shaping up to be a really cute romance?

I loved this book big time! I mean how can you not find yourself instantly invested in a fake dating romcom where the male lead is a quirky cute vampire? My Vampire Plus One was such a cute and playful take on the vampire romance trope and I for one think that there needs to be more books like this. It was impossible to find fault with this cute easy to follow romcom.

I just adored our hero, Reginald was easily the sweetest and most easy going vampire hero that I have ever read. Instead of a dark and broody vampire we get a total cinnamon roll of a hero and I have to say this was easily my new favourite version of vampire hero. It was impossible not to swoon at how cute Reggie was, I mean he was so smitten with Amelia there was nothing that he wasn’t willing to do for her. I just loved the way he wrote about her in his journal and the way he expressed his feelings. There was such a great balance between his old world charm and the way he fitted into the modern world. As for our leading lady, well there really is no way that you cant like Amelia, she was so sweet and easy going. Her situation with her family was so relatable and I totally understood her desire in wanting to being a date along for the wedding needing a buffer. While Amelia was more on the reserved side it was nice to see Reggie bring out a more easy going side to her personality.

I really liked the chemistry between these two, while they might have been more opposite than not, they just worked perfectly. I loved that Reggie brought out a playful and easy going side to Amelia that not many people got to see. I really enjoyed getting to see them lean on each other and support each other. I really liked the way Amelia helped Reggie realise his place in life and help him navigate a bit of unease. I will say that I would have liked a bit more steam in this book but this was only a minor thing.

While this book can be read as a standalone, I would recommend reading the first book in this series, My Roommate Is A Vampire, to fully appreciate the entire book and understand some of the backstory. It was really nice getting to see a bit more of Cassie and Fredrick, and getting to see how they have been getting on. All in all I really loved reading My Vampire Plus One, this book was cute, quirky and such a playful take on the vampire romance. A definite must read from me!

Amelia Collins is by definition successful. She would even go so far as to say successfully single. But not according to her family, and she’s tired of the constant questions about her nonexistent dating life. When an invitation to yet another family wedding arrives, she decides to get everyone off her back once and for all by finding someone–anyone–to pose as her date.

After a chance encounter with Reginald Cleaves, Amelia decides he’s perfect for her purposes. He’s a bit strange, but that’s fine; it’ll discourage tough questions from her family. (And it certainly doesn’t hurt that he’s very handsome.) For centuries-old vampire Reggie, posing as her plus-one sounds like the ultimate fun. And if it helps his ruse of pretending to be human, so much the better.

As Amelia and Reggie practice their fauxmance, it becomes clear that Reggie is as loyal to her as the day is long, and that Amelia’s first impressions could not have been more wrong. Suddenly, being in a real relationship with Reggie sounds pretty fang-tastic.
