Ride-FreeNacho Figueras Presents: Ride Free by Jessica Whitman is the third book in The Polo Season Series and revolves around Antonia Black. If you’ve read the previous books, then you know that Antonia or Noni, is the half-sister to Alejandro and Sebastian.

Antonia didn’t grow up with the type of wealth her half-brothers did. She was just a nobody. They might have had the same father but he kept her a secret until after he died. Once Alejandro found her, he brought her to live with him and informed her that she will inherit some money when she turns thirty. She works hard for the Del Campos as their farrier. She’s very talented but just like her family, she has polo in her blood. If only she could let them know that she wants to be on the team, everything else would fall into place.

For Enzo, the moment he saw Noni, it was love. Noni is beautiful, determined, and such a hard worker, but at the end of the day she’s still the boss’s sister. Even though Noni is off limits, it doesn’t stop Enzo from fantasizing about her. It’s only a matter of time before they give into their attraction for one another and once they do, it’s not something they can take back.

“Her kiss was spontaneous and innocent; he knew it was probably meant to be over almost as fast as it was given, but Enzo finally had Antonia in his arms, her lips were on his and he was not going to let her slip away.”

While Noni and Enzo do share a connection, it’s not unbreakable. When a blast from the past comes back into Noni’s life, she makes some decisions that do not involve Enzo, leaving him to pick up his things and switch jobs, because he can no longer be around her.

Noni is weak when it comes to a former boyfriend and his son. Even though this man breaks her heart, she takes him back willingly. While I sympathize with her situation, I don’t agree with her decisions. It’s clear Enzo loves her and she loves him, but that doesn’t matter. All that matters is the little boy and being a mom to him. Circumstances come up that allow Enzo and Noni to be together, but I felt like he was her second choice and Enzo deserves more than that.

There were many things I liked about this story. I really loved Enzo. His love and respect for Noni is simply beautiful. I also liked how much the Del Campo’s rallied around Noni and took her in. The story itself is well-written with vivid descriptions and easy to follow. Overall, even though this isn’t my favorite from the series, I would definitely recommend it to other readers.

Antonia Black has always known her place with the Del Campo family-a bastard daughter. And it will take a lot more than her skill with horses to truly belong within the wealthy polo dynasty. In fact, she’s been shuttled around so much in her life, she doesn’t even know what “home” means. Until one man shows her exactly how it feels to be safe, to be free, to be loved.

Enzo Rivas knows Noni is way out of his league. After all, he’s the stablemaster, and she’s the boss’s sister. But he can’t see the hurt in her eyes and not want to protect her. And he can no longer deny the electric tension jumping between them. Yet just when he’s ready to risk it all and change their relationship forever, a secret from her past makes him question everything he thought he knew about her…
