Nine Month Contract by Amy Daws: Wyatt doesn’t do relationships; he does solitude, mountain life, and now… well hopefully fatherhood. Determined to become a single dad, the gruff and broody outdoorsman needs a surrogate, not a soulmate. No drama, no attachments, just a simple arrangement. Enter Trista, a fierce and independent woman who isn’t afraid to push his buttons. She’s not looking for love either, but she’s willing to help Wyatt with his unconventional plan. What starts as a no-strings-attached contract soon turns into something far more complicated. Trista’s wit and warmth begin melting Wyatt’s icy walls, and the more time they spend together, the harder it is to deny the sparks between them. But Wyatt isn’t the type to believe in happily-ever-afters, and Trista refuses to settle for anything less. A grumpy mountain man. A feisty heroine. One unexpected love story that neither of them saw coming. Will this nine month contract turn into the forever kind of love?

Loved! I just loved this book to bits! Firstly I’m a major fan of Amy Daws, really there isn’t anything that she could write that I would not want to read, but a book about a guy wanting a baby, yes please! This book had such a cute and fresh take on the surrogacy trope, and I just loved the way Daws portrayed each and everyone of the characters in this book, to create the perfect new series that is sure to be cute! Also I am a total sucker for a cute small town romance, though have to say that Daws has done a brilliant job in bring to life the surrogacy trope and exploring the complex feelings and emotions that go along in this journey.

Wyatt is the epitome of a grumpy, rugged, and emotionally reserved hero. He lives in the mountains and preferring solitude over social interaction. His main goal in life is to become a father, but he has no interest in marriage or romance. Simply put he was the perfect hero to follow as he falls hopelessly in love! I have to say I really enjoyed getting to see him battle his own conflicts and issues with allowing someone into his guarded heart. We really get to see our big softie go through a rollercoaster of emotions and face the fact that he really cant control everything in life. Now for our leading lady, Trista is the perfect opposite to Wyatt’s brooding nature. She’s independent, outspoken, and doesn’t back down from a challenge. While she initially agrees to the arrangement with no expectations of romance, her dynamic with Wyatt slowly changes as their bond deepens. I just loved getting to see her breath in a whole new life onto Wyatt reserved world, she was pure wild feisty confidence. I really liked the fact that she did not shy away from Wyatt and his grouchy demeanour, instead she meet him with sassy and wit, keeping him on his toes.

While their relationship doesn’t start out in the most conventional style, these two have one of the most for filling slow burn build ups that you will find. Their forced proximity creates undeniable chemistry, with Trista’s teasing breaking through Wyatt’s gruff exterior. Despite their initial agreement to keep emotions out of it, small moments; his quiet protectiveness, her ability to challenge him and their growing vulnerability brings them closer. Though their slow-burn romance is filled with tension, humour and heartfelt moments, making their journey from a cold contract to a passionate connection both emotional and satisfying to follow.

Nine Month Contract is a heartfelt and unconventional romance that blends humour, emotion and sizzling chemistry. Daws crafts a story that is equal parts funny, tender and steamy, with a grumpy hero who slowly learns to open his heart and a strong-willed heroine who refuses to settle for anything less than real love. If you enjoy small-town romances with a fresh twist, witty banter and slow-burn passion, then this book is definitely worth picking up!

I wanted to pummel my irritating brothers when they posted their own version of a wanted ad to help me with my life.

But I can’t fault the results once the right woman lands in my lap.

Becoming a single father is not a decision I made lightly. In fact, it’s the biggest decision of my entire life.

Which is why when I interview Trista, I know she’s perfect.

She’s wild, she’s opinionated, she wears cowboy boots. Even my pet goat loves her…

She’s the exact type of person I was holding out for.

And to my great horror, I realize on our first night of attempting this baby-making dance—when the lights are low, the cheap wine is flowing and the home-insemination supplies are laid out on the kitchen counter—I want to do a lot more than just make her my surrogate.

I want to make her mine.
