In One Good Cowboy by Catherine Mann, Mariah McNair is slowly dying due to a brain tumor. She summons her grandchildren to determine which of them is suitable to take over the family empire. Cowboy turned CEO Stone McNair is given the task of finding homes for his grandmother’s rescue dogs with his ex-fiance Johanna Fletcher.

OGCSure, Johanna can handle a week traveling the country with her ex-fiancé to fulfilll his dying grandmother’s request. She and Stone want different things—plain and simple. But there’s nothing plain about Stone, or simple about the heat that still flares between them. One week may not be long enough….

One Good Cowboy by Catherine Mann is the first part of a new miniseries Diamonds in the Rough. After reading the story I think the other books in the series will show how the other grandchildren fulfill the tasks given to them by their grandmother and find love on the way.

One Good Cowboy by Catherine Mann is a well written, fast paced romance about second chance romance. It is about how two people reconnect and find a common ground for their relationship. Stone has his own set of emotional baggage because of his past and parents. He was raised by his grandmother and is willing to do anything for her. Johanna is the ranch vet and has to work with her ex-fiancé to find suitable homes for his grandmother’s rescue dogs. She is still not over him and is confused about the heat that still flares between them. She broke off the relationship because they both wanted different things from life but as they spend the week, she discovers a whole new side to Stone. The dogs add a another enjoyable factor to the story and are a delight to read about.

The romance is all about rediscovering each other and was very believable because the main characters faced believable obstacles in their relationship. The hot chemistry between the characters makes their romance even more enjoyable.

Overall, One Good Cowboy by Catherine Mann is a delightful second chance romance and would be loved by everyone who loves reunion romance.
