One More Moment (Band on the Run #3) by Samantha Chase: Charlotte Clark is a vocational rehabilitation counselor. In other words she helps the homeless and people down on their luck to find a job. She is very dedicated to her vocation and has a heart of gold. That’s probably one of the reasons why she decides to buy the guy in front of her in the line in her favorite coffee shop a cup of coffee and blueberry muffins. He looked rather rumpled and scruffy so probably he could use a helping hand even if it was just a free breakfast. Little did Charlotte realize at the time that her helping hand would lead to much more; major changes in her life.
Julian Grayson is the drummer in one of the most popular bands in the world, Shaughnassy. He is not a happy guy having just returned to Malibu from three months riding his motorcycle wherever it would take him in search of finding himself. He is rich and staying in a fancy beach house, certainly not the guy Charlotte thinks he is. Yes, he is recovering from the embarrassment and bad press following the ending of his relationship with his cheating fiancee. Yes, he is angry and bitter, but he’s OK now. Or so he thinks. Charlotte has it all wrong. Or does she? He may not exactly be down on his luck financially but he is a real mess emotionally. This woman in the coffee shop doesn’t need to pay for his breakfast. He can certainly more than pay for it himself. And what does she mean with this “pay it forward” she’s spouting. He decides to join her at a table on the beach and straighten her out. Or will it be vice versa?
One More Moment is the third book in author Samantha Chase’s Band on the Run series. This book rounds out the last of the band members’ stories, Julian’s story. She has done a great job with this book. I think it is the best one of the series. There’s great dialogue, steady pacing and an excellent storyline. Her characters are creatively written as three-dimensional people. It was great seeing all the band members again along with their wives. So awesome to read such a fulfilling HEA with lots of love, laughter, emotions and tears.
Brilliant conclusion to a super series!
