Penniless Virgin to Sicilian’s Bride by Melanie Milburne (HQN): Frankie has created an ice queen reputation for herself as she’s learned to protect herself from those who would just take advantage of her. She longs for love and a family, especially after just losing her father, but she doesn’t trust men easily. She’s smart, feisty, passionate, and loyal.

Gabriel may have had a partly privileged upbringing, but he’s more of a self-made man. He’s distanced himself from his family while trying to protect and care for his younger sister and maintain a sterling reputation. He’s sexy, charming, wealthy, and hates to lose.

Frankie has given up just about everything to protect her family legacy, but Gabriel may be her only hope. The money and privilege she grew up really don’t matter to her, but she’s devastated to be on the brink of losing her family home. Gabriel has a devil’s bargain for her in a marriage of convenience.

His lazy smile set that sail in her stomach flapping again. ‘I am willing to gift you this house as well as the money to cover your father’s debts if you’ll agree to become my wife.’
Frankie shot out of her chair so fast it fell over with a thump. ‘Your…wife?’

Frankie has long been attracted to the arrogant Gabriel. He makes her feel things she’s unaccustomed to feeling and tempts her beyond reason. Despite being in the same circles, they don’t actually know each other that well and Frankie has an insatiable curiosity about the man she agreed to marry. She pushes him for more and he makes her feel safe, desired, and cherished. They may have married in haste, but being married is like nothing either anticipated.

Frankie forced herself to hold his gaze. ‘You’re only allowed to touch me with my permission, remember?’
His mouth tilted in a knowing smile, his eyes so dark they looked like glittering pools of black ink. ‘You give me permission every time you look at me, cara.’
‘That sounds like a man with an oversized ego talking.’

Penniless Virgin to Sicilian’s Bride has tension, passion, conflict, and family drama. Melanie Milburne created an engaging opposites attract story. Ms. Milburne developed stubborn, proud characters who are well-matched. Fans of Carol Marinelli and Kate Hewitt will enjoy Penniless Virgin to Sicilian’s Bride.
