Perfect Betrayal by Season Vining: Inside man on a $15 million heist, the last thing Levi expected was to fall for the daughter of the house.
Just graduated from high school, Taylor seemingly has everything, but only when she gets to know the new poetry spouting maintenance man, Levi, does she finally meet someone other than her longtime nanny who understands the broken home she lives in. Intent on seducing him at first, she never expected the attraction between them to burst into love.
But together and broken, they work past their prejudices. Only, Levi has something to hide as Taylor gives him everything.
“He squatted down to check something letting Taylor get an up-close view of his ass. An involuntary sigh escaped her lips. Levi turned at the sound as Taylor quickly closed her eyes, trying to seem uninterested.
‘Do you enjoy watching people work?’ he asked over his shoulder.
‘Nope. Just you. You’d make a fantastic cabana boy, you know.’He faced her and crossed his muscled arms, the material of his shirt pulling tight against his biceps. ‘Cabana boy? Like one of those idiots parading around in a Speedo and having an affair with the housewife?’
‘Or daughter,’ Taylor said, smirking.”
Going in I loved the idea, and while it started slow, I did come to love Perfect Betrayal. I especially love the tension because I had no idea until the end how this story could possibly end. It’s a fantastic, if slightly unbelievable, conflict between the two, but Vining told it well.
Levi, I loved, and it took a bit longer, but soon enough I loved Taylor, too. Both found solace in each other, having lost their families either due to death or negligence. The passion between them is hot since they’re so unable to resist each other, but they even have their super sweet moments as they open their walls to each other.
It’s definitely frustrating Levi having this secret the entire time, but it plays out surprisingly well, so in the end it was a good frustration. The only other character I really liked was Taylor’s longtime nanny, Suzanne. A wonderful woman and stand in parent. She really stood out mainly because the other characters were a bit too boring or annoying, nothing very interesting about them or their relationships.
They’re young characters, so it does have a New Adult feel. But even if you don’t care as much for NA, if you like heists or not very violent crime romances I’d highly recommend Perfect Betrayal.

To the outside world, Taylor Hudson has it all: beauty, money and social status. But Taylor’s privileged life is far lonelier than it appears.
Levi is the inside man on a job to steal fifteen million dollars from one of the town’s wealthiest families, putting him on a crash course with Taylor. Neither of them believe in love, but lust. . . that’s undeniable.
Now they’re locked in a wicked game of seduction and it’s unclear who is playing who. But neither of them expected the affair to lead to the deepest connection they’ve ever experienced. Because beneath Taylor’s perfect exterior lies a need for love that mirrors Levi’s own.
As the heist approaches, how can Levi protect Taylor from the truth?
Is he willing to give up everything to save the one girl who’s made him want to be a better man?
