Positively Pippa (Ghost Falls #1) by Sarah Hegger What I love so much about Sarah Hegger books is that all of her characters are real, they are messy, they are not perfect, but that is what makes her stories so wonderful. They could be the person next door, they could be a family member, they could be you. The new series is no different. This new series starts with the beautiful story of Pippa Turner and Matt Evans.

Pippa Turner’s life has been turned upside down. When her ex and the producer of her show edits Pippa in the worst light, she is forced out of her show and is sent running for LA and back to the only place where she will feel safe. Back home to Ghost Falls and to her beloved Grandmother Phi. But Ghost falls also holds her mother and sister, who she has never really felt a connection with, and of course, one very hot, very sexy Matt Evans, the same Matt that she has had a crush on since they were kids in school. As Pippa is trying to sort our her life and make decisions on what to do next, she never anticipated Matt making his move, or that his move would be made on her!

Matt Evans was just about to work up the nerve to ask Pippa out when she hightailed it out of town and make her dreams come true. Matt knows all about dreams, and he also knows all about how easily they can be broken. At seventeen his dad died, leaving a mortgage, a failing business, a wife who totally shutdown, and 4 other children. Matt stepped up, gave up his dream to play football and go to college, saved the business, took care of his siblings and mother and became the responsible one. Matt never thought that he would ever be able to get something that he wanted. But when Pippa comes home to lick her wounds, he knows that he needs to take his chance, even if it is temporary.

As Pippa and Matt begin spending time together, sharing they days and nights, something that started as casual turns real quickly. But when Pippa seems to be giving up on her dreams, and Matt’s brother comes home with an offer that will allow Matt to find his own, can these two find a way to make a future, or will they walk away?

What I loved about Matt and Pippa is that they both had such a similar family dynamic. Matt felt the need to take care of everyone and everything. Making everything right for his family, leaving nothing for himself. Pippa never understood her mother and sister. She always felt like she was a third wheel when it came to them. But when Phi ends up in the hospital, it forces Pippa, her mother, her sister and her grandmother to face the past and make peace. And for Matt, when his brother Eric comes home with an opportunity that seems to good to be true, and makes Matt excited in a way that he has not been in a long time, it makes him loosen his grip and allowing his family to do things on their own.

I loved that Matt and Pippa both felt like a soft place for each other. When they had good news, they wanted to share it with each other. When things went sideways, they were the rock and support for each other. This is a wonderful start to what will be an amazing new series. I look forward to more.

Publication: May 30th 2017 | Zebra | Ghost Falls #1

From author Sarah Hegger comes an exciting new series set in small-town Utah, where secrets don’t keep for long—and love turns up in the most unexpected places.

For Pippa Turner there’s only one place to go when her life self-destructs on national TV—home to Ghost Falls, and her heavily perfumed, overly dramatic, but supremely loving grandmother, Philomene. If anyone will understand how Pippa’s hit makeover show was sabotaged by her vengeful ex, it’s Phi. But she’s not the only one who’s happy to see her—and Pippa can’t help but wonder if Matt Evans, her gorgeous high-school crush turned Phi’s contractor, is game for a steamy close-up…

Matt owes his whole career to Phi and her constant demands to embellish the gothically ridiculous house he built for her. Getting to see red-headed, red-hot Pippa is a bonus, especially now that she’s no longer the troublesome teenager he remembers. He’s willing to stay behind the scenes while she gives her own life a much-needed makeover, but not forever. As far as he’s concerned, their connection is too electric to ignore. And the chance to build something lasting between them—before she can high-tail it back to Hollywood—is going to the top of his to-do list…
