Reckless Nights (Vegas Nights Series #1) by Karen Erickson, is the first novella from her brand Recklessnightsnew series Vegas Nights. Additionally, Wicked Weekend, a very short prequel to the series, is currently free on Amazon. Each novella focuses on one of three best friends who take a much needed and deserved weekend away from their hectic lives in Los Angeles. This first book is all about Reagan, an emergency room nurse who works the graveyard shift.

Like most girls, when Reagan was a teenager, she had a thing for a famous, good-looking celebrity. Reagan’s crush of choice was famous actor Declan Carter. Declan just happens to be hosting a party that she and her girlfriends find themselves invited too, their first night in Las Vegas. Reagan and Declan immediately hit it off and spend the entire weekend experiencing fabulous sex and getting to know one another. Declan is in awe of Reagan, because he has finally found someone who is interested in him for just him, not his money or his contacts in Hollywood. Reagan is just as mesmerized with Declan, since her teenage fantasy has suddenly become her real life.

I loved this well-written, scorchingly hot, contemporary romance. The characters are nicely defined and the plot flows effortlessly from beginning to end. I found Reagan’s excitement and amazement when meeting Declan for the first time to be truly palpable. Ms. Erickson does a terrific job of creating her own interpretation of the fairytale romance trope, with Declan starring as Prince Charming.

If you are looking for a quick read with just the right combination of storyline, fun, and steam, then check out Reckless Nights.

Reagan can’t believe her luck—and not in a good way. One minute she’s hanging out with her friends at an exclusive party in Las Vegas. The next, she’s attracted the attention of a famous actor. Not just any actor. Declan Carter, the man on which she used to—okay, might still—have a fangirl crush. Whose blue eyes leave her embarrassingly tongue tied.

All Declan wants is to meet a nice, normal woman who won’t use him as a stepping stone to fame. Something about Reagan tells him she could be that rare woman, and he follows his instinct to invite her back to his suite—where they proceed to have wild monkey sex. All. Night. Long.

What was supposed to be one night of no-regrets sex stretches out into a blissful weekend of two people who can’t get enough of each other. But when the glamour of Sin City wears off, they’re standing on the edge of a once-in-a-lifetime chance to turn a weekend fling into something lasting. Will they take the jump?
