Reclusive Millionaire’s Mistletoe Miracle by Michelle Douglas: Chloe found after her husband died that the family business was in big trouble and her parents had kept that news from her while she was grieving. She decides she needs to find some well paying job to avoid financial disaster. She has background with landscape design. When a job to help renovate and repair a garden at Dawncarden Manor comes up, she knows this will be just what she needs.
The owner of the property, Beau, has been living as a recluse. He was famous for doing nature documentaries. When a freak accident left him scarred, his network dropped him and he believes that he will never work in that field again.
When Chloe arrives at Dawncarden, she receives a rather grumpy welcome. She does see the potential of the gardens and tries to get Beau involved with the project. She can also see beyond Beau’s scars. It is risky to get involved with a man who is dealing with so much. Also she will be gone after the job is finished.
It’s easy to see how Beau has become so depressed and withdrawn after his injuries. Chloe is able to help, accepting him as he is and see the vibrant man that is still there beneath the surface. A wounded hero always engages me and fills me with compassion. A heroine who is so kind and caring warms my heart.
I’m a huge fan of alliteration, so this title is just perfect. I have enjoyed several other novels by the talented Michelle Douglas. They all charmed me, but this one hit a new high for me. This is book #35 for Ms. Douglas. I look forward to more stories by this wonderful writer in the near future.
