Right Girl, Wrong Side by Ginny Baird: Two families that have a long-time feud against each other sharing a beach house? The boisterous Machado family and the conservative Hatfield family vacationing together? This book could not be anything but hilarious!

Ryan and Evita’s mothers had a fallen out while they were in high school which led to their family’s feud against each other. Ryan had crushed on Evita in high school, but their mothers intervened so nothing came out of it. Ryan’s mother refuses to leave when there was an error in their reservation and the Machado family shows up. The families come to an agreement, but Ryan and Evita are left trying to keep the peace between the two families.

After a bad breakup, Evita Machado can’t wait for her family’s vacation in Nantucket. But when they arrive at the beach house, the Hatfield family has already taken over the place. Apparently, there was an error in their reservations and neither family is willing to leave. Finally, the families agree to split the house but the rivalry between the two moms creates problems as Ryan and Evita try to keep the peace their feelings for one another surface again. Can the two maintain peace between the families and find their way to a happily ever after together?

This was a cute and fun romance with a low spice level. It was told from both main characters’ viewpoints which gave us a look into each of their feelings. The differences between the two families livened up the story and kept things interesting. There was plenty of family drama, witty banter, and compromises to be reached. The book will have you smiling and leave you with all the feel goods in the end.

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Ginny Baird brings her signature charm to this multicultural story about two disputing families sharing a beach house and the messiness that comes from falling in love with someone who your family is determined to despise.

Busy flower shop manager Evita Machado can’t wait to get to Nantucket. With a bad breakup behind her, relaxing at the shore with her folks and her brothers and their families sounds like the sure cure for heartache, and their vacation destination looks like an amazing place! But when they arrive at the quaint rose-covered cottage, another group has already put down stakes: the Hatfields.

Ryan Hatfield was Evita’s former crush from high school, but their business rival moms refused to let them date. Now history professor Ryan is here for a week with his parents, who won them this oceanfront rental in a society silent auction. Once it’s clear there’s been a double-booking due to a bidding mistake, Ryan’s mom digs in her heels, meaning to stay. When Evita’s mom won’t back down either, both sides tepidly agree to share the luxury accommodations by dividing the cozy space.

With the boisterous Machados livening things up and the strait-laced Hatfields tamping them down, can Evita and Ryan keep the peace between the warring factions while fostering a growing chemistry between the two of them?
