Right Where We Left Us by Jen Devon: Temperance Jean and Duncan shared one magical summer together while they were eighteen and then well it all kind of fell apart. Even though they have the kind of chemistry people dream off, they just have not been able to make anything last, which is why they have both been avoiding each other like the plague… well that is until a wedding at the Brady vineyard lands TJ smack bang in Duncan’s path again.

The last thing that TJ wants is to be under the heated glances of Duncan, and the very last thing that Duncan can afford is being distracted by the fiery nature that is TJ, but there is no way their old strategy of avoidance is going to work now that they have to see each other daily. Soon the two have no choice but face their old wounds and figure out where they went wrong, because there is no way either of them can deny the chemistry that flows between them…

Right Where We Left Us is slow burn, will they or won’t they perfection, the build up in this forced proximity, second chance romance was just perfect. While this book is the second book in the Brady family series, it was easy enough to read as a standalone, though once you get a taste of this over the top cute family you will definitely be wanting to read the first book. I loved the setting and pace of this book, while there was a lot of miscommunication between this couple I really enjoyed the way the novel flowed.

Both main characters were really great but both of them carried a lot of unneeded burden. They were largely misunderstood by their families while lead them to for the most part try to shut out other people. I will say Duncan was a bit of a rollercoaster, as much as I liked our hero his emotions were all over the place. One moment he was all for being with TJ, then the next he felt that he was not good enough for her, then back to wanting to be the man for her. It really was a journey with our hero but this largely steamed from his insecurities. While our girl Temperance knew that she wanted to be with Duncan but was afraid that he would crush her heart again. Truly this couple was all over the place but instead of feeling choppy this kind of worked for them, adding to the will they or wont they element in this book.

I loved the chemistry between these two, while they might have had some emotional speed bumps, there was no questioning their compatibility. TJ and Duncan just clicked, they had banter for days and the steam factor was on point! With a whole host of incredible supporting characters it was easy to get invested in this book and want even more of the crazy Brady family. I truly hope that there will be more books featuring this lively family.

If you are looking for a good slow burn, forced proximity, second chance romance then I would definitely recommend reading Right Where We Left Us.

Temperance Jean Madigan and Duncan Brady have never gotten it right. After one radiant, secret summer together when they were eighteen, they’ve been on-again off-again ever since. Now, despite red-hot chemistry and TJ’s closeness with Duncan’s family, they’re virtually strangers, only capable of adversarial banter, awkward small talk―and the occasional messy hookup.

When a wedding at the Brady’s vineyard lands TJ there for the summer, their mutual avoidance strategies prove impossible. The last thing TJ wants is to be under those angsty, heated glances Duncan thinks he hides. And for Duncan, having fiery TJ constantly close is the ultimate distraction that he absolutely can’t afford. When forced proximity begins to chip away at their armor, buried tensions resurface, old wounds urge confrontation, and once-in-a-lifetime love demands one last chance to finally get it right.
