REVIEW: Romancing the Running Back by Jeanette Murray

Romancing the Running Back by Jeanette Murray: Anya is thrilled to help out with her best friend’s wedding. It gives her the much needed chance to start over in Santa Fe and leave her crazy soon to be ex-husband behind her. She loves clothes and fashion and can’t wait to branch out full-time as an online personal shopper.

However, Anya is less than thrilled to be paired with the best man in planning the wedding. She’s not looking for a man in her life, especially one who thinks her job is superficial and a waste. Josiah is a dedicated conservationist and they immediately got off on the wrong foot.

“Sounds like you’ve got a real problem there. I wish you well.”
Her eyes narrowed…he had to give it to her. She always knew when he was giving her shit. “Right. Well, if you happen to bump into the cure for cancer while you’re out there running around with a football, let me know.”

They banter back and forth and give each other a hard time regarding how the other lives. But their tense interactions are hiding the overwhelming attraction that both feel. Being forced to work together also gives them the chance to get beyond surface details and get to actually know each other. And the more time they spend together, the stronger the attraction becomes until they finally give in.

“We slept together. That could have been enough if you were a different person. But you’re not.”
“You can’t stand me,” she retorted. “And you annoy me.”
“Great. We’re already having a better marriage than half of America,” he shot back.

Romancing the Running Back is an engaging, fun, and sexy opposites attract romance. Jeanette Murray developed two entertaining characters with very strong points of view, which made for entertaining interactions! Ms. Murray provided great secondary characters in their friends and coworkers. Romancing the Running Back can be read as a standalone. Fans of Jaci Burton and Rachel Gibson will enjoy Romancing the Running Back.
