Royally In Trouble by Meghan Quinn: Things are beginning to heat up for Lilly and Keller, with their big royal wedding being only a month away, the two are well and truly in the midst of wedding planning and keeping with tradition the two have been split up. With planning tensions running high and little to no time together, Lilly and Keller can’t help but begin to feel as if they are being pulled apart rather than forming a new union, the question is can these two find their way back to the spot that they were in before everything got crazy?
“If it’s easy, it’s not worth your time. The hard in a relationship is what bonds you.”
Meghan Quinn is well know for delivering a sassy cute, snark filled, laugh out loud reads and Royally In Trouble was very much this but with a darker more serious twist that I absolutely loved! This book picks up right were Lilly and Keller left of in Royally Not Ready, only this time round we get to see that not all that glitters is gold. I just loved that Quinn added in a suspense element to this book, not only did it make the book all the more appealing to read but it also added an interesting new layer to Quinn’s writing style.
I loved Lilly in the first book and I could not help but love her even more in this one. Our future Queen was such a delight to follow. Getting to follow her as she experienced all of these struggles and hurdles only made me like her more as a character. One of the things that I loved about Lilly the most was the fact that she never lost her sassy edge, even while facing these struggles our girl was still as sassy and sarcastic as ever and I just loved this. As for our prince charming, well Keller was still as serious as ever, only ever letting Lilly see his true soft center. I think Keller’s more serious nature actually helped him keep things in perspective in this book especially as Lilly and his love were tested. Though I will say I do wish that he would stop feeling like he did not belong.
“She’s shown me what it’s like to live, what it’s like to fall deeply in love, and what it’s like to live life after tragedy.”
Now as much as I loved reading this book, there were a few issues for me, like the lack of communication. Gosh so much could have been resolved had these two just communicated better! Nevertheless I understood why Quinn had things play out the way they did and in all fairness this only made for a more emotional and touching read. Royally In Trouble was definitely a more emotional and heartbreak read then the previous book but one thing that did not change was the incredible chemistry and passion between Keller and Lilly. These two really had some of the best banter and passion and if anything this book only highlights just how much they actually love each other.
Royally In Trouble was an emotionally charged, angsty read that ends in one heartwarming ending that highlights the power of love. This is definitely one to read!

I have two responsibilities as the new heir to the throne:
1. Get married.
2. Have babies.
Sure, becoming queen one day is part of those new responsibilities, but as long as King Theo is in charge, I don’t have to add a coronation to my list.
That’s why I find myself in the throes of wedding planning, pre-wedding classes with my broody, over-protective fiancé, and counting down the days until we can finally say I do.
But with every day we grow closer to our wedding, we seem to grow apart.
Our commonalities are tested.
Our faith in each other is questioned.
And our safety is threatened.
The only thing working? The command he has over me in the bedroom.
I keep telling myself, it’ll all work out. We just need to make it to the wedding day. Except, when the day finally comes, everything falls apart.
We might have made it through the last few months together, but now I’m not sure we’re going to make it out of this alive.

Thanks for this review. It looked like this isn’t as much a romcom as a lot of Meghan’s books.

Hooked By That Book
I didn’t like it as much. I agree about the communication gap. I think both were also just trying to hard to please the king and queen. The part in the middle went on for too long for me. I lost interest in that whole plot point. The ending was great.
