“We’re not trying to feed people food, We’re trying to feed them feelings.”
Binge watching cooking shows is one of my biggest guilty pleasures so this book was right up my alley. I loved the entire concept of Sadie On A Plate, this book has the perfect combination of a great comeback story, a super sweet romance, high stakes competition and loads of mouthwatering dishes. I can almost guarantee that this book will have you heading to the kitchen trying to create some of these mouth watering beauties!
Sadie was such an easy character to follow and get invested in, she was sassy, snarky and hilarious. I loved getting to see her grow and over come her insecurities and fears as the book progressed. I absolutely hate what happened to her with that break up but gosh did it open up her life for all the greatness that was to come. As for the cute little insta romance between her and Luke, this was just the cutest. I love the instant chemistry that they shared. I absolutely ate up their forbidden romance and getting to see them dance around that simmering tension. Luke was such a cute character, I absolutely loved the cute first date that he took Sadie on and gosh did he win me over even more as we got to see who he actually was and they way he handled their entire connection.
I really enjoyed getting to learn more about Jewish cooking and the traditions around their food, I loved Sadie’s passion for her cuisine and that she wanted to showcase that these old traditional dished can have a fancy modern twist to them. I have to mention that Elliot has done a brilliant job with the descriptions of all the food in this so much so she had me craving some of these delicious dishes!
Sadie On A Plate is a super sweet will they or won’t they, Top Chief style romcom that will be the perfect read for all foodies and romance lovers!
