Scrooging Christmas by Sarah Ready: If there is one time of year that professional decorator Natalie loves most it would be Christmas. With all those gingerbread men, shiny tinsel, merry carols and sparkly lights how can you not help but feel happy? So when grouchy Christmas hating Gabe Cavanaugh rolls into town threatening to evict Natalie and all of her neighbour on Christmas, she does the only thing that any sane person in her shoes can do… kidnap Gabe of course! With two days to convince Gabe to cancel the eviction and help him find his Christmas spirit, what could possibly go wrong?

Scrooging Christmas was such a treat to read, this silly cute Christmas romcom will definitely worm its way into even the coldest of hearts. I just love Romeo, this quirky cute town really does have a magic about it and I could not get enough of it! Oh Miss Erma was back at it again dishing out her soulmate predictions all in perfect time for Christmas. I loved the way this book started and that Natalie really had no idea what was in store for her after chatting with Miss Erma.

“The magic is always there, sometimes we just forget how to see it.”

I just loved Natalie to bits. She was a character after my own heart. Girl I feel ya with all that love for Christmas! She was such a chilled out character that was so easy to love. Her passion for decorating especially for Christmas was palpable. I really enjoyed getting to see her try to protect the people important to her even if it meant doing something a tiny bit crazy. All in all Natalie was a delight to follow, she was the type of character that you can’t help but love.

Now for our grinchy hero Gabe, well just like the Grinch it took Gabe a bit of time to warm up and really get into the festive spirit, granted all with a bit of help from Natalie. At first Gabe did come across as a bit of a mean jerk that has no heart but as the book progressed we got to see him grow and really transform as a person. I will say that the more we got to know his reasons for hating Christmas and wanting to keep people at bay the more my heart broke for this guy.

I loved Natalie’s family and the extra giggles that they brought to the book. Her grandma was just gold, really! All in all this book was pretty low in drama and angst which really worked for me. Aside from a bit of drama towards then end that only helped push Natalie and Gabe together, this book was a pretty light fluffy read.

Scrooging Christmas is the perfect book to add to your Christmas reading list. This book had just the right amount of festive joy, cute enemies to lovers romance, a sassy soulmate seer and a super sweet ending!

What would you do with a scrooge?

Professional holiday decorator Natalie Fiorre loves tinsel, gingerbread, and the magic of Christmas. She believes there isn’t anything in the world that a dash of Christmas Spirit can’t fix—until she meets Gabe.

Perpetual Scrooge Gabe Cavanaugh loathes candy canes, jingle bells, and all things merry and bright. He believes Christmas is the worst time of year.

So when Miss Christmas and Mr. Scrooge meet, sparks fly.

When Gabe threatens to evict Natalie and her neighbors on Christmas she does what any right-minded Christmas-lover would do…

Natalie has two days to stop the evictions and help Gabe discover the magic of Christmas, but a lot can go wrong in two days, and in Romeo, the soul mate capital, there’s another kind of magic in the air.
