In Searching for Always (Searching For #4) by Jennifer Probst, Arilyn Meadows is Searching-for-Alwayscoming off of a bad breakup that was, if she is honest with herself, a few years too late. After finding her boyfriend, who was also her yoga teacher, cheating on her again, she is done with him for good. Concentrating on keeping herself on the path to enlightenment through her healthy lifestyle, and working at Kinnections matchmaking agency with her best friends, Arilyn has enough to fill her days. Even if her nights are rather lonely.

‘She was searching for always. Forever. He’d give nothing but physical satisfaction and wouldn’t look twice when he walked back out the door in the morning.’

Police officer Stone Petty can’t believe his bad luck when he’s forced to undergo anger management sessions with the opinionated, yet damn attractive, Arilyn. They have never seen eye-to-eye since they first met last summer. But somehow his irritation toward the yoga-practicing, new age-loving goddess turns into intense desire. Stone is into casual hookups and highly doubts Arilyn will agree to his terms. However, when she surprises him by agreeing, he wonders if he’s gotten himself into more than he can handle.

“Damn, you’re hot. Too bad you’re also a pain in the ass and completely wrong for me.”

She bared her teeth, more comfortable with the punch of anger that flooded her system. “Good, because it’d be a cold day in hell before I’d pick you as a boyfriend.”

“How about a lover?”

Searching for Always is another unbelievably wonderful book in Jennifer Probst’s super-popular Searching For series. Fans finally get to know the truth behind Arilyn’s long-running relationship with yoga dude, and we get lots more of sexy officer Stone Petty. (Yay!)

I have absolutely adored all of the books in this series so far and I’ve been waiting for Arilyn’s story. It was obvious from previous installments that she was at the end of what she could take from her current boyfriend, whom not even her two best friends Kate and Kennedy had met in the five years she dated him. Not only did we find out what happened between them, but we also got to see just how strong and caring Arilyn is.

You could almost say that Stone and Arilyn’s romance was an enemies-to-lovers story. They immediately started bickering the first time they met and didn’t stop until they ended up in each other’s arms kissing, a little bit later on. I’m not always a huge fan of this trope, but thankfully their relationship wasn’t filled with animosity. They were complete opposites in so many ways that it just wound them up, not to mention the completely electric attraction that kind of knocked them off their feet.

Amongst all of the yummy sexual tension between Arilyn and Stone was a substantial plot. One that revolved around the tragedies they both had dealt with quite young in life and how it affected them today. It was interesting to learn the reason behind Arilyn’s decision to live a clean, healthy lifestyle and why she was so adamant about caring for others. Likewise, there was a definite reason Stone got into law enforcement. I ended up liking him a lot. Especially when it came to a certain four-legged little fur-baby that stole his — and my — heart. *happy sigh*

I know when I start reading a Jennifer Probst novel that it will have depth, humor, passion, and carry a certain level of poignancy. That, in a nutshell, explains Stone and Arilyn’s rocky path to a HEA that had me wishing the story wouldn’t end!

New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author Jennifer Probst sparks a blissful mind-body connection as her “sexy, satisfying” (Kirkus Reviews) new series continues!

She’s an expert in helping others de-stress, but Arilyn Meadows is running on fumes. Along with her job counseling singles seeking soul mates at the Kinnections agency in Verily, New York, she’s a yoga teacher, animal shelter volunteer, anger management therapist, and helping hand to her beloved grandfather. No time to find Mr. Right—but after discovering her yogi boyfriend in a compromising asana, Arilyn would rather dog-sit for her honeymooning friend Kate than risk her heart on another downward dog. And when police officer Stone Petty—radiating masculinity and bad-boy attitude—is sent to her for mandatory lessons in cooling off when the job gets too hot, Arilyn vows to ignore his seductive glances and sexy grin. But there’s no halting their sizzling flirtation—a red-hot, high-speed chase that’s breaking all the limits.
