Second Chance With The Billionaire by Janice Maynard: Are there really such things as second chances? Or just a lot of ships that pass in the night?

Ellie Porter had been devastated. First when she was in high school and uprooted from everyone she knew and loved her senior year, including her best friend Conor. Then again by her husband’s death, the loss of her twin brother’s foot, pregnancy and motherhood she was facing alone and now her ailing grandfather. How much more could one woman take? However she and her twin were moving back to their hometown and were going to get through it, together.

Conor Kavanagh had been through some loss, yes. He lost the ability to ski like the devil was on his tail, but he still had the need to prove he was alive, and maybe he was just a little addicted to adrenaline. There wasn’t anything like seeing his first crush and his former best friend walk back into his life though, nothing got his heart going like that

When Ellie comes to Conor for help they both feel that spark that had been there all those years ago. Perhaps Ellie has been strong for too long though and maybe Conor is there to help hold her up, but maybe Conor just needs that rush a little too much. Only time will tell, but with time running out what will the future hold?

Ms. Maynard has done something amazing here. She gives her readers this amazingly strong woman and allows her to be real, to have her moments of vulnerability and weakness while proving that there is nothing wrong with that. This is a woman who on some level I think everyone can relate to. Ms. Maynard’s portrayal of Ellie alone is worth five stars, but with a plot line that keeps the reader motivated and has a great twist at the end, well this is well done. Do yourself a huge favor and add it to the top of the TBR pile.
