Secrets of Castillo Del Arco by Trish Morey is a very emotional and sweet romance.
Raoul del Arco made a vow to never marry again after the tragic death of his wife a decade before. But now his friend Umberto has asked him to make him a promise on his deathbed, to marry his granddaughter and protect her from Consuelo Garbas, a man that has been getting close to Gabriella and who is after her inheritance.
Gabriella D’Arenburg has not seen Raoul since the death of their respective parents. Now after a decade she sees him for the first time on the day of her grandfather’s funeral. She no longer is that teenage girl with teenage fantasies of her and Raoul, She is a woman who feelings are deeper and stronger when she is near him.
Raoul does not take his promises lightly, but he doesn’t want to marry again, his solution, to find a way to drive Consuelo away from Gabriella and keep her safe. But not everything goes according to plan, for Gabriella does not turn her back on her friends easily. Now he will have to find a way to keep her away, and the best way is to take her with him to Venice.
His plans are not easily achieved though, Gabriella is now attractive woman that is waking the man inside him and the attraction is mutual. But he believes that the darkness inside him will taint her, and he doesn’t deserve to be with her. He will do almost anything to drive her away, but hurting her hurts him too.
Raoul will have to face the darkness he believes he has if he is to be able to love and be with Gabriella or he will loose her with his secrets and his distance.
