Ship Wrecked by Olivia Dade: Peter needs a brake big time, after the sudden loss of his mother, his tortuous relationship with his father and really just keeping his nose to the grid all these years trying to make it big in Hollywood. So when new T.V series Gods of Gates comes knocking Peter is determined to make this the role that rockets him into he big leagues! He just never expected his co-star to be Maria the Swedish goddess that rocked his world for one night before tiptoeing out of his room without so much as a goodbye!

Many things have changed since their steamy night together but one thing that hasn’t is the insanely strong chemistry that sizzles between Maria and Peter, but surly nothing can happen between them seeing as they are going to be spending the next few years filming on a remote Irish island… but something snaps on their last night of filming resulting in a renewed passion that burns with epic proportion but it would seem that fate has other plans for these two with Peter heading back to Hollywood and Maria destined for Sweden. Only this time Peter is not going to give up Maria without a fight!

Goodness me the Spoiler Alert series just keeps getting better with each book, there is definitely something very addictive about Dade’s writing style and the fact that she always delivers real and relatable character! I loved reading Peter and Maria’s story as these two found their way back to each other while trying to figure out the undeniable chemistry that has been floating between them. I loved the fact that this book was so rich in both characters pinning for each other, this only made the build up all the more satisfying.

Both Maria and Peter were amazing characters, I loved that they both had a well developed backstory. They were both heavily driven by their pasts which largely influenced their present choices. I just loved the fact that both main characters were plus size but this was just one characteristic of them and not the main focus. I just loved that throughout the read their chemistry and attraction was just bubbling below the surface. The entire pinning trope just worked perfectly in this book.

I loved Maria to bits, she had such boss girl energy. She was a total ray of sunshine that knew her worth and was not afraid to voice this. I really liked that she was so confident with her body and did not shy away from her curves. Though her past abandonment issues did way heavily on her battle with commitment, it was nice getting to see her work through these issues. As for our grumpy viking look-alike hero Peter, well he was all grumpy exterior with a gooey softie centre. I really liked his character and that at the heart of everything all he really wanted was to be loved and have a sense of belonging.

The secondary characters in this book were just delightful! I loved the entire cast and crew, these easy banter and sense of family only made me love all the moments we got to share with them. As for Maria’s family gosh they were a hoot! I loved their silly pranks and that they were always there to rally when needed. Also all the food! Gosh talk about making a girls hungry!

Ship Wrecked is a definite must read. This cute, slow burn, second chance romance will have you swooning, tearing up and rooting this couple on as they find their way to each other.

Book Info:

Publication: November 15th 2022 | Avon | Spoiler Alert #3

Maria’s one-night-stand—the thick-thighed, sexy Viking of a man she left without a word or a note—just reappeared. Apparently, Peter’s her surly Gods of the Gates co-star, and they’re about to spend the next six years filming on a desolate Irish island together. She still wants him…but he now wants nothing to do with her.

Peter knows this role could finally transform him from a forgettable character actor into a leading man. He also knows a failed relationship with Maria could poison the set, and he won’t sabotage his career for a woman who’s already walked away from him once. Given time, maybe they can be cooperative colleagues or friends—possibly even best friends—but not lovers again. No matter how much he aches for her.

For years, they don’t touch off-camera. But on their last night of filming, their mutual restraint finally shatters, and all their pent-up desire explodes into renewed passion. Too bad they still don’t have a future together, since Peter’s going back to Hollywood, while Maria’s returning to her native Sweden. She thinks she needs more than he can give her, but he’s determined to change her mind, and he’s spent the last six years waiting. Watching. Wanting.

His shipwrecked Swede doesn’t stand a chance.
