Snowed by Veronica Forand: I really enjoyed Snowed by Veronica Forand. snowedThis wonderful little novella packs a punch and does not leave the reader hanging. I did not realize that is was part of a series, because it was a complete novella that did not leave the reader feeling like they were lost in the middle of a series. This is the story of Con and Lorena.

Lorena Rubio just wants to move on with her life. Living in a small rundown apartment, working at a small meaningless job just to be able to survive, she is trying to put her life back together after the death of her sister at the hands of the drug lord that ordered her killed. What she never figured on is the “Con” would come looking for her, or that he would kidnap her on his bosses orders.

Andres “Con” Conesa has been so deep under cover for so long, that he knows the ins and outs of the cartel that he has been trying to take down. An FBI agent that knows the time is coming to take them down. But know he has to worry about making sure that Lorena makes it out alive.

But when the Boss shows up demanding that Con kill Lorena, will he follow orders to save his case, or risk everything and blow his cover in order to save the woman that has found her way into his heart.

Con and Lorena had a connection prior to her sisters death, and that connection only grew as they were stuck together in a cabin in the woods. Con was so wonderful to Lorena, taking care of her, worrying about her, make sure that even though he had “kidnapped” her, he make sure that he got her things that he knew that she would like, making sure that she had warm cloths, chocolate and food.

If you like a story that has love, suspense, and a unexpected kind of HEA, than you will enjoy Snowed.

Don’t fall in love with the man sent to kill you…
Lorena Rubio lived a safe, simple life until she’s kidnapped by Andres “Con” Conesa, right hand man for the drug lord who murdered her sister. Con must keep her at a cabin in the snowy Sierra Nevada Mountains until his boss can confirm or deny the rumor that she’d provided specifics about his drug cartel to the police. Their attraction ignites in the middle of this winter wonderland, but he’s in deep cover for the FBI and has to remain there, and she refuses to attach herself to someone in the criminal world. When the boss arrives a few days and wants Lorena put on ice, Con’s willing to blow his cover to save the woman he craves beyond reason, but he may be too late.

***This novella was part of the anthology “Snowy Days, Steamy Nights: Come in From the Cold” published in January 2015. I’ve made a few edits to this version of “Snowed,” but otherwise the story is significantly the same. Enjoy!
