So Good by Darcy Burke is the first in a new series and highly enjoyable. so-goodBurke brings us back to Ribbon Ridge with a new set of characters but never fear, some of your favorite characters will make an appearance.

Cameron Westcott and his brothers are getting their winery up and running. During a tasting, Brooke Ellis immediately catches Cam’s attention, but Brooke has heard of his reputation and shoots him down every chance she gets. Cam has a three strikes rule, and if the woman he’s after shuts him down after three times, he’s out. He refuses to chase after Brooke, but now that they are working together, Cam is having trouble staying away from her.

Both characters have issues that are keeping them from moving forward. Cam’s heart is still wounded from his last girlfriend and he has no desire to go through that again. As for Brooke, her divorce has left a sour taste in her mouth and she’s hiding a pretty big secret about herself. Brooke does a good job at keeping her relationship with Cam strictly business, but their attraction to each other is too hard to ignore.

“Their gazes connected, and fire sparked through her. Damn it. Absence apparently made more than the heart grow fonder – it made unsatisfied aches burn.”

When Cam and Brooke can no longer fight their attraction to each other, will either one of them survive the secret that lies between them?

Overall, this story is worth the read with its well-written words, beautiful descriptions, and likeable characters. Brooke is smart, attractive, and knows her wine. Cam is funny, honest, and irresistible. Together they are flirty, sexy and a match made in wine heaven.

I’m not a drinker but Darcy Burke can easily make me appreciate the beauty and sophistication of a fine with without even taking a sip.

Cameron Westcott has spent eight years recovering from heartbreak by keeping romantic entanglements casual and simple. He’s never minded being called a manwhore, but after two years immersing himself in his new winery, he might be ready for the next chapter. Especially when he meets a sexy wine distributor—only she says she isn’t interested.

Following a bitter divorce, Brooke Ellis relocated to Ribbon Ridge to rebuild her life. Things will never be the same for her, and she’s coming to terms with that reality when she meets charming, persistent Cam. She can’t imagine a happy ever after given his reputation, but he makes her feel so good.

As the sparks between them intensify, they’re both hesitant to commit for very different reasons. Or are they really just sabotaging their own futures? If they can trust each other—and themselves—they may realize that what they share is too good to let slip away.
