Spitfire in Love by Isabelle Ronin: Kara will protect her family at all costs, including working multiple jobs while trying to finish her college degree. She’s absolutely fierce, independent, and runs on coffee. She’s determined, loyal, private, and quite selective about who she lets into her life.

Cameron has found success and a sense of family since he started working in construction. He works for his mentor and runs his own projects, as it suits him. He’s sexy, charming, intimidating, and intense. He doesn’t do relationships, commitment, or feelings.

Cameron is immediately captivated by the spitfire he sees taking on someone twice her size and he’s still thinking about her when they cross paths on campus. Cam isn’t the type of guy who actually has to put in much effort when it comes to girls and Kara knows it. She’s never caught speechless and she has trouble keeping herself together around Cam. But that only lasts so long and she’s not afraid to tell him exactly what’s on her mind.

“You’re alone with me.”
She narrowed her eyes. “Yeah. And no one would know who murdered you when I hide your body in the shed.”
I paused and threw my head back laughing.
“I like you,” I said.

Kara is reluctantly drawn to Cam. She knows he could hurt her, but she can’t help but want to know more about him. He has her exactly where he wants her and both feel the chemistry, even though Kara tries to fight it. They push and challenge each other. It’s often two steps forward and one step back as both are in a brand new situation with unfamiliar feelings for them.

“You’re just…different.”
She nodded as if she understood. “Like weird different.”
“No,” I answered truthfully. “Refreshingly different. You’re…real.”

Spitfire in Love has angst, conflict, heat, tension, banter, and lots of anticipation. Isabelle Ronin created complicated characters and an engaging and compelling romance. Ms. Ronin delivered an entertaining cast of characters in this standalone. Fans of Meghan Quinn and Nora Flite will enjoy Spitfire in Love.

He was leaning against the wall, a lollipop in his mouth, hot as hell and twice as dangerous.

CAM
She looked so soft, harmless, like a pretty kitten, but she was as safe as a ticking time bomb.
My sweet, sweet Spitfire.
