Spurred to Justice by Delores Fossen finds FBI agent Nolan Dalton receiving information from the Grave Digger, a serial killer, who leads him to his latest potential victim. He arrives on scene to find his ex-girlfriend and former cop, Adalyn Baxter, attempting to rescue the woman, who they discover was left alive to leave a message for Nolan.
Soon, Nolan, Adalyn, and others are drawn into a case to not only find out who the Grave Digger is, but who Nolan’s parents really were. Everything is tied together in a series of twist and turns that Nolan and Adalyn need to unravel before it’s too late. When loyalties come into question, the pair know they can only really trust each other to get to the bottom of the mystery before it’s too late.
I found the second chance romance between Nolan and Adalyn to be ok; they worked well as a couple, but their love story wasn’t particularly memorable. Where this book really shines is with the mystery and suspense. It’s well-written and will keep readers sitting on the edge of their seats, guessing as to what would be reveled next and wondering how it was all going turn out.
Spurred to Justice is a page-turning, fast-paced, edge-of-you-seat story that will grab the reader’s attention from the first page and hold it until the last. While it is the fourth book in The Law in Lubbock County series, it can be read as a standalone. This book would be for readers who enjoy second chance romances, romantic suspense, and books involving family mysteries.

I thought it was. As I mentioned the romance was so-so, but mystery and suspense made up for it.
