Wow! This book is a part of a series, but can be read as a stand alone. The nice part if you are reading it as part of the series though is that it does wrap up some of the story arcs. If this is your first book in the series it’s pretty darn amazing because it takes you all over the place emotionally. Ms. Troutte has a way of making you feel things that are real, uncomfortable and lovely. She will pull you in with the damage and keep you in by healing the pain in a real way. Her words flows like a country creek after the rains. Be prepared for lots of short chapters, more focus on the characters than anything else and an emotional read.
