Star-Crossed Scandal by Kimberley Troutte: Ever need to get away and yet the closest you can come in a work vacation?

For Nicolas Medeiros that was what this trip was all about, he was scouting a location for his next big hit, a reality show. What he didn’t expect was sex in yoga pants to be his guide for the week. He hadn’t had a reaction this strong to someone in many moons, if ever. Could he accomplish what he needed and get what his body wanted at the same time?

Chloe Harper couldn’t believe that she was face to face with the man who made her love music and him so many years ago. The only problem was is that she had sworn off men until she figured herself out and she was not about to mess this up for her family. She just had to figure out how to get through this week and make Nicky M chose their resort over the other choices.

Nicolas and Chloe were more alike than they realized and yet the harder they pulled from each other the harder they snapped back together. Could they do this? Or was this one heck of a messed up plan?

Wow! This book is a part of a series, but can be read as a stand alone. The nice part if you are reading it as part of the series though is that it does wrap up some of the story arcs. If this is your first book in the series it’s pretty darn amazing because it takes you all over the place emotionally. Ms. Troutte has a way of making you feel things that are real, uncomfortable and lovely. She will pull you in with the damage and keep you in by healing the pain in a real way. Her words flows like a country creek after the rains. Be prepared for lots of short chapters, more focus on the characters than anything else and an emotional read.
