Stirring Up Trouble by Kimberly Kincaid is the third book in the mouth watering Pine Mountain series. This book had my pulse pounding, my heart melting and yes, at times had me in tears. Each book in the series can be read stand alone, and this one is no different, although I would HIGHLY recommend that you read them all, because the characters, the setting and the entire series is worth it’s weight in gold.
Sloane Russo is a fly by the seat of her pants kind of girl. A erotica romance author, Sloane never likes to be tied down, is always moving, always planning, always has an escape route. She has lived more place then one can count and has had more jobs then anyone can remember. But when she is asked to tutor Bree, the 13 year old half sister of Gavin Carmichael, she only agrees because the pay is great and she needs the money for her trip to Spain. What she doesn’t count on is falling in love with Bree, Gavin and the thought of putting down roots in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Gavin Carmichael has his hands full. After his mother’s death, he is tried the best that he can to raise is half sister, trying to support the both of them, and trying to heal from not only the loss of his mother, but of the fiancee that walked out on them when he needed her most. Now faced with flighty Sloane, the woman who races through life, never stands still and is haunting he dreams, he wants nothing more than to show her that if will just slow down, she might find that life could hold so many more possibilities, and that she might for once, see what she needs right here in his arms.
I fell in love with Sloane and Gavin. They are both wounded souls who have trust issues. Both are guarded, both are scared, but they take a leap of faith with each other. I love how supportive Gavin is of Sloane. He believes in her as no one else ever has. His faith in her is what gets her to believe in her writing again. But I was truly touched with the way that Gavin and Sloane helped poor Bree. Gavin and Bree have communication issues. Both afraid to talk to each other, both hurting, but neither know how to take that first step. With Sloane to guide them, they find their way and let me warn you know, have the Kleenex ready cause you are totally gonna need it.
The ending of this book and the HEA for Sloane and Gavin had me cheering, crying, and excited for more to come. I love this series, I love these characters, I love the setting in the Blue Ridge Mountains, and the fact that we get to visit old friends from the previous books. I look forward to more in this series and I give this book 5 wonderful stars.

Looking for inspiration…
Sloane Russo’s turned a decade of crazy jobs and whimsical travel into a career writing steamy novels set in exotic places. Trouble is, Sloane’s flat broke now—and she can’t channel sun-drenched beaches in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The only fast cash in town comes with some seriously distracting temptation: Gavin Carmichael, hot, handsome and oh-so-hard-headed.
Gavin isn’t the impulsive Don Juan of Sloane’s novels. He’s raising his thirteen-year-old half-sister, and he’s pretty sure he’s supposed to act like he’s never heard of fun. Sloane is way too sexy and irresponsible to be his idea of a good tutor for Bree, but the unpredictable anti-nanny may be irresistible as well…
