Stolen for His Desert Throne by Heidi Rice, how much did I love this story? Let me count the ways!

I loved the feisty Princess Kaliah who is so, so loved by her parents. I loved her match to Desert Prince Kamal. I loved Kaliah’s outlook on life and I loved her strength and resilience and stubbornness. I loved her love for her family. I loved her beauty and grace and I loved her playfulness.

I loved Prince Kamal. I loved his presence, his outward no f’s given, his truly strong in the mind and body desert Prince attitude. Kamal is also stubborn, resilient, strong, passionate and the dream desert guy really. The one you would want to look after you and your family. He stands for no nonsense so Kaliah is very trying for him. He thinks she’s disrespectful and not a match for him.

I loved the adventure, the smell of the sand, the fireworks between Kalia and Kamal, the fast paced exciting adventure, the scary storms, the beautiful locations, the edge of seat page turning which I couldn’t wait to finish but didn’t want to either.

I loved how Heidi Rice made everything right in the end. Can’t elaborate on that without spoilers but I’m referring to the aftermath of the desert storm. The swirling sands is a great correlation of Kaliah and Kamal’s love story.

I was so curious when I first read this was a second generation book. What a fantastic concept. I hope to see more. One of my favourite books for this month.
