Stranded in the Woods by Noelle Adams: Stranded in the Woods is the third story in the Holiday Acres series, and occurs at the same time as book 2 (included in the Snowed in for Christmas anthology). You can read each as a standalone, though the last book will feature a couple seen as secondary characters throughout the first three in the series. They all have a forced proximity theme and involve the same two families – the Holidays and the Mathesons.
Penny Holiday finds herself driving in a snowstorm and decides it’s best to stop sooner than later – a smart choice though she ends up at the cabin of a longtime estranged friend, Kent Matheson. Their fathers were at odds over the Holiday Acres property, with Penny’s father having cheated Kent’s father out of his part of the ownership. The resulting fallout ruined more than one relationship, including Penny and Kent’s friendship.
Now both their fathers are dead but the one time Penny tried to reach out to Kent he rebuffed her. Not even he is hardhearted enough to leave her out in the cold (literally) so Penny spends the snowstorm at his cabin. During their time together, they reminisce and make amends – and finally get to deal with the attraction that just started to bloom as adolescents in some sexy love scenes. But it’s a big step for Kent to consider a relationship when he’s spent the last few years hiding out and staying away from people, in an effort to not turn into his angry, alcoholic father. Penny extends the olive branch and the chance for Kent to see a brighter future – if he’ll take the risk. It’s a sweet and sexy reunion romance and a lovely Christmas story. I can always count on Noelle Adams to provide an emotionally satisfying romance.

A surprise snowstorm. A grumpy recluse. One very hot night.
When Penny Holiday gets stranded during a snowstorm, she has to seek refuge with Kent Matheson, a childhood friend who lives like a hermit and has never forgiven her family. Kent is everything she shouldn’t want, but feelings are awakened in his cabin in the woods that don’t disappear when the snow finally melts.
