Sweet on You (Sweet on a Cowboy #3) by Laura Drake is a sweet, funny, heartfelt books about a cowboy and a Army medic. It is the story of about facing your fears and pushing through it, it is about making choices and letting go of the past, it is a story about giving yourself permission to be happy and to live life.
Katya Smith, Army medic, has been to war, lost her friends, people that she considers her family when a bomb exploded and injuring her and killing her partner. Now back in the States to recover, find her focus, heal her PTSD and trying to find her footing so that she can get back to her unit, she takes a job with the rodeo to allow herself to find her gypsie healing again and also to work through her fear of failing. What she doesn’t expect is to find herself caring for the cowboys, feeling like a part of their world part of their family, and fearing that somehow she will fail them as she did her unit, her partner, her friends. Most of all, she did not count on Cam “Cool Hand” Cahill, 2 time rodeo champ, hot as blazes, and the one person who makes her want to spill all her deep, dark secrets.
Cam Cahill is looking down the road of retirement. All he ever wanted to do was rodeo, but now as he career and his season is drawing to a close, he is at a cross roads on what to do next with his life. After a bad marriage and an even worse break up, he had sworn off mixing is rodeo life with is personal life. That all goes down the tubes really quick with Cam lays eyes on the strong, sweet, sexy, frightened Katya. She brings out the fierce desire in him to hold her, protect her, make things better for her.
As they begin a journey that will take them from town to town following the rodeo, they set out on a road that will either bring them to a HEA, or lead them in different directions when the finals are over. Injuries, heartache, friendship, family and love will guide these two wounded hearts to a ride into the sunset and a HEA.
What I enjoyed about this book were the characters. There were so many of them that helped Cam and Katya throughout this book. His family was a riot, his sisters were everything annoying little sisters should be. The young up and coming rodeo stars that captured Katya’s heart and showed Cam that even though his career riding bulls might be over, he still had a lot that he could share and teach to the young bucks. The relationship with Cam and Katya was beautiful. The way that they leaned on each other, supported each other, cared about each other, opened up in ways that they couldn’t with other people only made their journey all the more special. I truly enjoyed the books and give it 5 gold stars.

Ex-army medic Katya Smith has always healed other people’s pain. Now she has to deal with her own. Taking a job as an athletic trainer on the Pro Bull Riding circuit seems like the perfect escape from her grief—except Katya doesn’t know anything about bulls, and even less about the tough men who ride them. She doesn’t expect to fall for the sport, or for one tantalizing cowboy who tumbles her defenses.
For rodeo champion Cam Cahill, fifteen years of bucking bulls have taken their toll on his body. Before he retires, he wants a final chance at the world title—and he doesn’t need some New Age gypsy telling him how to do his job. But when the stunning trainer with the magical hands repairs more than his worn muscles, everything changes. Soon Cam finds himself trying to persuade Katya to forgive her past so she can build a future . . . with him.
