REVIEW: Tempting Love by Kelly Elliott

Tempting Love by Kelly Elliott is book three in the Cowboys and Angels series and is not a standalone. You need to read the first two books and in order, before tackling on this one. It makes more sense that way. You’ll get the character’s back story and will understand their situations better.

Mitch finally gets the woman he has feelings for, but leaves right after doing the deed. He doesn’t think he’s good enough for Corina because of three reasons. One, he’s a cop. Not an easy profession to keep a relationship. Two, he’s a man-whore. He’s slept with most of the town and three, he’s afraid of commitment. Like most men, commitment freaks him out.

Corina is a teacher who loves Mitch. When her and Mitch finally hook up, she thinks he’s going to be different and they can start a relationship. That didn’t happen and now she’s making it her mission to move on from Mitchell. There’s even a new teacher at her school that could make moving on a bit easier. But when Corina’s house is set on fire and has nowhere to go, it gives Mitchell the second chance he needs to win over Corina and to right his wrong.

Mitch doesn’t express his feelings well, but it’s clear that he cares for Corina. Corina got on my nerves more than a few times. She jumps to conclusions and opens her mouth before thinking, which ends up hurting Mitch. I know he hurt her before, but there’s a point where you need to either forgive the guy or forget him…completely. Once these two get their act together, the romance really comes alive.

Tempting Love has a beautiful cover to entice readers and has many wonderful qualities. The writing was done very well and the author gives her characters the happy ending they deserve. I enjoyed the small-town setting and loved how close all the people in the town are to each other, especially Mitch’s family. For those who’ve read the first two books, definitely pick this one up. For those who enjoy small town romances, this might be a series for you to add to your reading list.
