Texan for the Taking by Charlene Sands: Sometimes it’s really easy to hold on to the hurt that has been building for years.
Andrea, Drea, MacDonald knew that. She had a lot of hurt. Her mother died, he father became and alcoholic, her childhood home was gone, and there still was so much more that came and now, now she was back. How was she going to face her past to build her future? Would she survive it?
Mason Boone knew his past, and while there were ups and downs he had loved and lost, but he was just going through the motions. That is until his lips touched hers… now he was alive, but how? Why? Was he willing to risk everything he had left? Or was her brief time here enough?
Drea and Mason were oil and vinegar until they weren’t, but how long could that really last? When Drea’s time at home was up, would she be leaving? Or was her future at home in her past?
This novel starts out with a bombshell and it’s doesn’t get any less fascinating. Ms. Sands has done some really interesting things with these characters as well, including how clues she is able to keep Mason throughout pretty much the entire novel. I’m not sure I agree with the title of the book for description but everything else about this novel fits an amazing feel of romance, light suspense and a plot that will leave you not wanting to put the book down for anything.
