The Best Man by Kristan Higgins is a snappy, witty, family oriented story, that had me laughing out!
Faith Holland was all set to marry her high school sweetheart in front of the whole town, when asked if anyone knew of any reason why the two shouldn’t be wed, the best man, Levi Cooper, spoke up. The groom it seems had been secretly keeping the fact that he is really gay from Faith. Brokenhearted and humiliated Faith flees to San Francisco to lick her wounds. When she returns home to work on a project, she runs in to Levi, and things slowly heat up between the two, but Faith still blames Levi for ruining her wedding. Will Faith be able to let go of the past so that she and Levi will have a chance at love?
Levi Cooper has known Faith every since they were young kids. He thinks that he is really doing Faith a favor by letting her know that the man she is about to marry is really gay. When Faith blazes back in to town after a hiatus away, and is caught speeding, it is Levi who gives her a ticket. It turns out that a ticket isn’t the only thing that Levi is interested in giving Faith. Will Levi be able to convince Faith that he was only looking out for her best interest all of those years ago?
Kristan Higgins is a master at writing about family life! She has created a lighthearted romance with a cast of zany characters that are dysfunctional, but highly likeable. At times I felt like the secondary characters overshadowed Levi and Faith’s story, but I was able to overlook this minor annoyance. If your looking to have your funny bone tickled then you can’t go wrong with The Best Man!

Sometimes the best man is the one you least expect…
Faith Holland left her hometown after being jilted at the altar. Now a little older and wiser, she’s ready to return to the Blue Heron Winery, her family’s vineyard, to confront the ghosts of her past, and maybe enjoy a glass of red. After all, there’s some great scenery there….
Like Levi Cooper, the local police chief—and best friend of her former fiancé. There’s a lot about Levi that Faith never noticed, and it’s not just those deep green eyes. The only catch is she’s having a hard time forgetting that he helped ruin her wedding all those years ago. If she can find a minute amidst all her family drama to stop and smell the rosé, she just might find a reason to stay at Blue Heron, and finish that walk down the aisle.
