The-Billionaires-VoiceThe Billionaire’s Voice by J.S. Scott: Tessa Sullivan has overcome a lot over the past six years: the loss of her hearing, the loss of her ice skating career, the death of both of her parents, and having her fiancé leave her simply because she could no longer hear. Having returned to Amesport, Maine, she’s spent the time trying to pull her life back together. When she gets invited to participate in the Sinclair Foundation’s charity event for former Olympic athletes, she figures she can’t participate, no matter how much she wants to.

Micah Sinclair met Tessa at his cousin’s wedding; since then he hasn’t been able to get her out of his mind. He buys up a lot of land in Amesport, hoping to develop vacation homes for him and his two brothers. More than that, he wants to spend more time with Tessa.

I loved Michah. He went out of his way to learn ASL so he would be able to communicate with Tessa, even though she could also read lips. When she told him she couldn’t participate in the charity event because she was deaf, he refused to let her use that as an excuse. Instead he pushed her to find a way to perform her routine without being able to hear the music. He encouraged her whenever she needed it. And when he found out the reason her fiancé left her, he was angry because the man made her feel like she wasn’t worth anything since she could no longer hear.

“It doesn’t matter anymore. I made a lucky escape. If I had married him, I doubt I’d be the same person I am right now.”
” Yes, you would. But you’d also be his puppet on the outside, and that would have made you miserable. You shouldn’t have to change for anybody. You’re fucking perfect just the way you are.”

With Micah’s help, Tessa was able to step out of her comfort zone and try things she never imagined doing, including sky diving. He pushed her to figure out what really made her happy and to do whatever it took to obtain it. He basically encouraged her to really start living again.

Tessa wanted to thank him, but how did she thank a man for literally giving her back her life? Micah had never treated her differently because she had lost her hearing. He pushed her buttons, pushed her limits, but he never saw her deafness as a handicap. It was the first time anybody had ever treated her quite the same way they had when she could hear.

In this book we also get a little background on Micah’s two brothers, and I’m looking forward to reading their stories when they come out

This is the fourth book in the series but it can be read as a standalone. I haven’t read the previous three books in the series but had no problem following along with the characters in this one.

This is a beautifully written story filled with laughter, heartbreak, love, and some steamy scenes between the main characters. It’s about not letting a disability define you and overcoming your own fears that are holding you back. I highly recommend giving it read.

After a lifetime of loss, Tessa’s finally come to terms with her limitations. Or she would, if a certain sexy businessman weren’t pushing her to want more. And to want him. All her remaining senses are clamoring for her to touch, taste, and feel. But her doubts tell her to go slow when their passion gets too hot.

Micah’s determined to prove to Tessa that she can still have everything she’s ever wanted, including his love. But will she listen to her head—or her heart?

Between reading the previous book in the series, The Billionaire Touch and this review why in the world would I be interested in purchasing this book. In The Billionaire Touch Michah and Tessa have already met and this begin the background story, but adding this review you know the outcome. As far as trying to attract readers stating “steamy sex scenes”, most romance books have sex scenes for filler to satisfy the publishers for page count.

I agree that in some cases sex scenes are thrown in as filler, and you can definitely tell when that’s the case. In this book, however, it wasn’t. They’re used to move the story forward. And a book review is simply that–a review. My goal is not attract readers to certain books, but instead put my opinions out there to help readers decide if a book is for them or not. In this case, it sounds like it’s not for you and that’s ok. Not everyone is going to like the books I do or agree with my opinions and I respect that. And I apologize if you felt my review contained spoilers, because that certainly wasn’t my intention.

It”s not so much your review that has spoilers, but more the relationship between the two in the previous book and than reading your review. My problem is (and I take full responsibility for my problem) I love anticipation and even many excerpts on Amazon spoil it for me. BTW of course I know there is usually an hea, but would like more tension between them before hand. Thanks for responding to my comment. BTW the photo is of my late pet Pippi!!!!!
