The Bride He Stole for Christmas by Caitlin Crews is quite a fast paced and very interesting read.

Christmas Eve brings the eve of Timoney’s wedding with a gross old man who her uncle is making her marry. Feeling betrayed by her ex Crete, the love of her life, and the impending threat of loosing her family if she doesn’t marry the gross old man, Timoney’s at a loss, thinking this is her new world. Of course I was waiting edge of the seat, surely Crete is going to show up and show up he did! Crete is disgusted at his replacement and highly offended. He has one night convincing her this is not her best option and when that doesn’t work there’s nothing left to do but kidnap Timoney.

I really enjoy the risks Caitlin Crews has been taking in her latest offerings. They are all different and bold and I like the switch up. The history is laid out, the emotion is caught and the passion is intense. And what makes this one different is the entire story takes place over 24 hours. It’s so clever! With the flashbacks, internal dialogue and many conversations, I was clear on Timoney and Crete’s past love, what they mean to each other, the family drama and all of the good stuff that makes up a Presents.

I really liked The Bride He Stole for Christmas because I love the emotion that Caitlin is so good at delivering. I loved Crete! I liked how he faced his challenge and I liked watching the light come on for him! I loved that Timoney stood tall and was honest and upfront about her feelings from page 1. And I particularly loved the clever writing that enabled me to receive the same level of impact a story spread over a longer time delivers.

Do you like stories that take no more than 24 hours ?

Certain that she will never love again, Timoney George has agreed to a convenient marriage. If she can’t recapture the hot, all-consuming chemistry she discovered with Crete Asgar, she might as well have cold security.

Crete tried to forget Timoney, but the idea of another man possessing her is intolerable. With just twelve hours until she walks down the aisle, Crete steals her back. And now he has the night before Christmas to prove to her—and himself—that he won’t break her heart all over again…
