The Fearless King by Katee Robert: Journey is smart, successful, determined, and the COO of her family’s company. Journey and her siblings are from two wealthy and powerful families and they are loyal to each other. After a difficult childhood, Journey has spent her life trying to put herself back together again.

Frank has built his own empire after watching his father lose everything. He’s become quite powerful in Houston, in part by always having the right information. He’s sexy, commanding, protective, and an alpha.

Journey is independent and hates to rely on others, but she’s struggling to deal with family conflict and then Elliott, her father, decides to return and make a play for the company. She’s smart enough to know her and her siblings may need help, even if it means turning to an unlikely source. While Frank has always been drawn to Journey, he’s deliberately kept his distance outside of their professional relationship. When she unexpectedly shows up, Frank can’t deny her.

In the end, she didn’t have a damn choice and they both knew it.
Journey held up a single finger. “I’ll agree-on one condition.”
“Duchess, this isn’t a negotiation.”
“It is now.”

Frank’s help doesn’t come without a price. They decide to fake a relationship while he’s getting to the bottom of Elliott’s sudden return. Faking a relationship seems simple enough, but the lines are blurred from the beginning with their chemistry and feels oh so real. They’re drawn to each other and can read each other well. Frank becomes a much-need source of support and protection while Journey tries to find an inner strength she isn’t sure she has.

“Let’s make one thing clear.”
“Just one?” Her faint smile actually reached her eyes this time.
“For now.” He massaged her tense muscles in her neck, making sure to keep his grip firm. “There’s no going back if you choose this. It’s all or nothing.”

The Fearless King has danger, suspense, surprises, family, drama, and heat. Katee Robert created well-matched and complicated characters within a world of money, power, and games that draws you in and leaves you wanting more. The Fearless King could be read as a standalone. Fans of Chantal Fernando, Nora Flite, and Sophie Jordan will enjoy The Fearless King.
