The Fine Print by Lauren Asher: Don’t you just hate it when you are forced to jump through hoops in order to receive what should rightfully be yours? Well for Rowan and his brothers this is just the case, after their grandfather died the entire Dreamland estate should go to the three boys but if they really want their share of the multi billion dollar inheritance then they each need to complete a task set for them by dear old granddad… and for Rowan that is to spend six months at the amusement park and identify any weaknesses and fix them. The last thing that Rowan has time for is a distraction much less one in the form of an over sunny employee with big dreams, but there is just something about Zahra that keeps pulling Rowan back regardless of how hard he tries to keep her at arms length. Could Zahra be just the push of heart that Rowan needs to find his real connection to Dreamland?

“Truth is, I’m terrified of falling in love. But I’d rather trust you with my heart and risk you breaking it than live another day without you in my life. I want to be the kind of man that deserves a woman as beautiful, selfless, and kind as you.”

I just loved this book to bits, the entire concept of being based in a Dreamland/Disneyland style amusement park just got me. I loved that this book had so much of heart and really had a playful side to it. Having the entire novel set in the theme park really helped create this cute fairytale vibe to Zahra and Rowan’s story. Also the whole grump meets sunshine trope has always been a favourite of mine so this book really just checked so many boxes for me.

Zahra was such an amazing leading lady, I just loved that she was this ball of positive energy. She really had so much of joy and passion for her work and helping make Dreamland the best that it would be. I really liked getting to see her achieve her dreams of becoming a creator finally and really getting to see her put her touch of magic on an already magical place. As for our hero Rowan, well he really worked into his role of the grump, this guy was so closed of and business focused he really did not fully appreciate the beauty of Dreamland at first. I have to say that I loved seeing his character grow and really open up and fall in love with drawing again.

“Kissing Zahra is like reaching Heaven after an eternity spent in purgatory. Like I’ve spent most of my life hopelessly ambling around, waiting for her to show me the way back to the light. She’s divine with enough wickedness to make a sinner like me want to pray in devotion.”

I just loved reading Rowan and Zahra’s story these two had some insanely good chemistry with loads of banter. I loved that they started of on the wrong foot and this only made their opposites attract connection all the more sparky to read. I really enjoyed getting to see them work together on creating this new project for Dreamland and in doing so helping each other grow as individuals. They really did make the perfect grump meets sunshine couple that helped each other defy the odds. I loved that they both tried to fight and hide their feelings for each other but this only made their connection grow all the more intense.

For the most part this was a cute light read but I have to say that I liked the fact that Asher included a few heavy topics and that she included characters with disabilities. I really liked Ani, Zahra’s sister, she was such a sweet character and her disability never held her back from being a sweetheart. The Fine Print has done a brilliant job at not only building the Dreamland universe but also setting the scene for Rowan’s two other brothers. I can not wait to get my hands on their books next!

The Fine Print was such a cute read that I would highly recommend reading, also do yourself a favour and check out the BookToks on this book!! It will just make you want to read Rowan and Zahra’s story all the more!

Rowan
I’m in the business of creating fairy tales.
Theme parks. Production companies. Five-star hotels.
Everything could be all mine if I renovated Dreamland.
My initial idea of hiring Zahra was good in theory, but then I kissed her.
Things spiraled out of control once I texted her using an alias.
By the time I realized where I went wrong, it was too late.
People like me don’t get happy endings.
Not when we’re destined to ruin them.

Zahra
After submitting a drunk proposal criticizing Dreamland’s most expensive ride, I should have been fired.
Instead, Rowan Kane offered me a dream job.
The catch? I had to work for the most difficult boss I’d ever met.
Rowan was rude and completely off-limits, but my heart didn’t care.
At least not until I discovered his secret.
It was time to teach the billionaire that money couldn’t fix everything.
Especially not us.

I don’t think I’ve ever read a book set in a theme park so I am definitely intrigued by this one.

I am intrigued by the amusement park setting and want to see how the characters overcome their resistance to each other. This sounds like a good story.

Having the opportunity to improve on a park along the lines of Disney Land would certainly be a challenge but one that should be enjoyable. There is enough child in most of us to relish the opportunity. It is always fun in a story to watch grumpy meets sunny clash and then gradually mellow and appreciate each other. Thank you for the review.
