The Hacker by Nancy Herkness: Dawn is all about taking back her life, after having faced her own share of trouble and past anxiety, she has found her sweet spot in self defence, so much so that she has made a living off it and a pretty successful one, so much so that she is in high demand at the Jersey gym where she works. Loving her life and job, Dawn is slightly confused when a number of gym members begging to complain about having issues with the gym wifi, wanting to do anything she can to help, Dawn decides to get to the bottom of the issue. When her friend Alice suggests that she contact her fiancée’s company and get in touch with IT wise Leland.

After the passing of his mother Leland has buried him self in his work, so much so that when Dawn approaches him with her odd wifi dilemma he is more than happy to help look into it. As the two begin to uncover the deeper issue they realise there is a lot more going on than just a faulty wifi connection, soon Dawn and Leland learn that the computer is actually linked to the dark web and a whole host of illegal affairs.

“I’d stand here all night with you if I could. Well, maybe I’d talk you into taking it horizontal.”“ Talk away . You know I love your accent.”

This was a fast paced steamy read, boy oh boy was it steamy! The chemistry between Dawn and Leland was intense to say the least, but more than that I loved that they helped heal each other. Even though Leland is a super protective guy I liked that he didn’t feel the need to wrap Dawn in cotton wool, he gave her the respect to make her own decisions all while still being there as her safety net.

“We saved our lives. It was mutual.”

Even though The Hacker is part of a series, it can be read as a stand alone romance. I never thought I would say this but I think the only flaw in this novel was that a bit more time could have gone into developing the plot more rather then just the sex scenes. But this is just a personal preference and really didn’t take away to much from an otherwise good romance suspense. Both lead characters were well developed with a nice back story that lends you to wanting to find out more. I will say that even though the plot could have used a tiny bit of work, the actual writing was really well done.

When a personal trainer and a computer genius are caught in the dark web, there’s a lot to fear and a love to fight for in a heart-racing novel by Nancy Herkness, award-winning author of The Money Man.

Dawn Galioto is an expert in self-defense and the most in-demand personal trainer at her Jersey gym—a perfect position for a woman fighting her way out of a troubled past and the anxieties that come with it. Then, after complaints about baffling Wi-Fi glitches at the gym, Dawn calls in disarmingly hot, high-powered computer consultant Leland Rockwell. If she can trust anyone to fix her on-the-job problems, it’s Leland. As for healing her off-hours fears, time will tell.

The cybersecurity genius of KRG, Leland sees a lot to admire in Dawn. She’s strong, quick-witted, and sexy. And something of a puzzle—one Leland wants very much to solve. If only she’d let him. Every new reveal brings him intimately closer to Dawn, but there’s another, more dangerous riddle to decipher. After going undercover to solve her Wi-Fi problem, Leland’s found a dark workplace secret. As Dawn’s past threatens a burgeoning romance, the deepening mystery they’re discovering threatens their lives.

Great review and i’m going have to find time to wedge the book in….as you know, “Sucker Punch” LKH’s book, is 608 pages lone and I can’t sit for extended periods of time….got to get it done…quibble with LKH is too much explanation, at times…so have to plow through that to make sure I miss nothing crucial…still, worth it, 90% of the ime
