The Introvert’s Guide to Blind Dating By Emma Hart: Piper Carter is the last single one in her friends group and she is happy just the way she is, her friends however didn’t seem to get this memo! All Piper really has time for now is building her bakery and trying to achieve her dream of expanding Queen of Tarts into a nationwide franchise which really leaves her with little to no time to date, now this doesn’t mean she is sitting like an old nun Piper just does things on her own terms. So you can just imagine Pipers surprise when she finds her latest blind date is non other than one of her hook ups, big shot romance author Maverick Donovan.
Maverick has major writers block, it would seem that writing a novel with the lead character being a baker is proving to be more of a challenge than he had expected seeing as he is absolutely the worst baker ever! Which is why when he sees that his blind date is non other than his last one night stand and as luck would have it Piper is a baker!
“Apparently, I was a whore for more than just carbs. I was an ab whore, too. But sit me down and slap me silly, I was all about a man who loved books. Which meant that Maverick was danger with a capital D.”
Desperately in need of some baking inspiration/research Mav makes Piper a deal she can’t refuse; if he can shadow her for a while and if she creates a few original recipes for his book he will pay her a good chunk of cash that could towards opening her next store. The question is what happens when somewhere between their shared early mornings baking, sharing sweet treats and home cooked meals the lines between just friends and something more become more than a little blurred?
At this point there is nothing that Emma Hart could write that I wouldn’t read! Hart is such a brilliantly talented writer that always creates just the perfect combination of swoony, sassy and laugh out loud novels, and The Guide To Blind Dating is just this in spades!
“IF YOU KISS IN THE DARK, DOES THAT COUNT? YOU’RE TECHNICALLY A LITTLE BLIND…”
Both Piper and Maverick were just perfect and getting to see them fall in love so naturally made for one cute read! Piper was such a great character, I loved her passion of baking and building her empire. She truly was a kick butt girl boss paving the way for herself. As for our hero Maverick, gosh what wasn’t to love about this guy? Not only did he write romance but he could cook and was a general sweetheart! I loved the natural progression of their relationship from friends to lovers.
The secondary characters in this book were amazing as always with Hart, we got to catch up with all of the old favorites and got a few good laughs thanks to the towns oldies and all their zany pets! I loved that Mav went out of his way to help Pipers grandmother get her flower garden.
I have fast come to love every and all books that Hart creates and The Introverts Guide series has to hands down be one of my all time favorites. I would highly recommend reading this silly cute romcom that will have you wishing this series and book gets turned into a Hallmark movie asap!

Blind dating: the act in which you date a stranger and hope it’s not the kid you once babysat. And try not to freak out when it’s your one-night stand from two weeks ago.
As the last woman standing, I, Piper Carter, am officially a loner.
Apparently, that means it’s time for me to get out there and find myself a man. My protestations that I have no time for it falls on deaf ears and the next thing I know, I’m on a blind date with someone my best friends assure me will be perfect for me.
Maverick Donovan, the guy I, uh, know very, very well…
After one conversation that makes my disdain for this setup very clear, the superstar playboy author asks me for only one thing: my help with his research for his next novel.
Turns out, the heroine in his next hot romance is the owner of a bakery, but all his ill-fated efforts are baking is the batteries in his fire alarm.
I agree. I’ll create some recipes for his leading lady, and he’ll credit me and my store, giving me the recognition I need to help me on my way to franchising.
If only we didn’t have to spend almost every free waking moment together to make it happen.
I don’t want to give my heart to the guy with a trail of broken ones behind him, but there’s a fundamental problem with that plan.
I’m pretty sure I’m doing just that…
