The Italian’s Bride on Paper by Kim Lawrence is a story which captures two people who unite because of their shared love of little Matteo, Maya’s half-sister’s son and Samuele’s deceased brother’s son… or is he?

Maya’s quiet life is thrown into panic and chaos when her little nephew Mattio is abandoned. When Mattio’s tall, dark and handsome uncle comes to claim him, Maya’s protective instincts kick in and she accepts Samuele’s invite to Italy to help look after Mattio while he finds a nanny and sort’s guardianship. An encounter in the past causes passions to simmer to boiling point while Maya’s staying at Samuele’s beautiful Tuscany Estate. Samuele asks Maya to stay and agree to a marriage of convenience.

Kim Lawrence has crafted a wonderfully exotic tale which throws Maya into a world unknown. She’s out of her comfort zone and her feelings for both Mattio and Samuele drive her to battle through, but when is enough, enough? Samuele’s promise and loyalty to his deceased brother lands him on Maya’s doorstep and he is immediately captured by Maya. It’s not long before he can see that a marriage would work well between them while he sorts the guardianship of Mattio. Samuele’s world is completely foreign to Maya and when she needs him, he’s nowhere to be found.

I really enjoyed the Italian’s Bride on Paper. Kim Lawrence used the most beautiful and descriptive words. The interactions between Maya and Samuele were an enjoyable combination of passion and heart. The family drama weaved through the plot was dramatic and helped push things along nicely.

Highly recommended for those who love tall, dark, handsome and powerful heroes who meet their match with the most unlikely but passionate heroines. Thoroughly enjoyed.
