The King’s Christmas Heir by Lynne Graham concludes the enjoyable The Stefanos Legacy mini-
series beautifully.
Rescued in the snow by Lara while out trekking; Gaetano has amnesia. Gaetano deals with his brother who’s been more like a father ill health the only way he knows how. Setting off alone with no way of contact he suffers a fall and as a result of his head injury, develops amnesia. Not knowing who he is or where he comes from, he knows he’s happy in Lara’s company and falls head over heels in love. Married quickly Lara’s simple world is magical until Gaetano’s life catches up with him and they dramatically separate. Two years later when Gaetano finally tracks Lara down to ask for a divorce; he discovers their son and immediately changes tack and ask for a reconciliation.
I really, really enjoyed this story for a few reasons. The King’s Christmas Heir has echoes of what I love about Lynne Graham’s writing. There was the third party causing trouble and there was misunderstandings which added to the drama. I enjoyed it because it was a great reconciliation story; the love still shone through but with the added tension of the third party and misunderstandings it was dramatic. I also enjoyed it because it was the brilliant finish to a series and all the while a perfect stand alone read.
Geatano and Lara were well suited. The addition of their son Robbie was enjoyable; I loved he wasn’t the perfect kid. The differences between the two was well laid out. The second chance aspect was brilliantly done and I just really, really enjoyed it as a whole.
