REVIEW: The Legacy by Elle Kennedy

The Legacy by Elle Kennedy: Seemingly the last instalment that calls up the conclusion to the series, The Legacy moves and links between our favourite character lives from the Off Campus series, and whilst each story is a novella, we get a glimpse into relationship bliss to see how our couples are faring, and how young adult life is treating them. And naturally, there are some big dramas along the way.

Like a love song that may have one too many choruses, The Legacy belaboured the drama a little too much, and thrust our four back into a kind of dilemma space that doesn’t really capture long term relationship bliss or general mundane living. And whilst our couples are all successful and killing it career wise, there seemed to be a huge focus on how they were going to navigate the next step.

Sadly, references to 25 being old, did my head in a little, but on the flip, being long term with someone for 3/4 years is no immature feat – and whilst I felt their issues were contextually relevant, I felt the treatment of them slightly off.

Having said that, I loved being back in their lives and experiencing the heat between them that made them brilliant in the first place. As a true Elle Kennedy fan, I think this draws a fairly good conclusion to the series, it just wasn’t needing a short/sharp ending, and greediness aside, think each deserved another novel of their own.
