The action packed latest release from Jackie Ashenden is called The Maid the Greek Married and I loved the the thrilling excitement of Rose and Ares’s story along with the links to Book 1.

Kidnapped as a child and sold into child slavery (trust me, it’s a brilliant back story for a Presents) Rose know she’s about to be sold again. One of her many actions of bravery (in the story) commences in the first chapter. Begging Ares to take her with him when he leaves and explaining why, our hero devises a way to do so safely without any bloodshed. Part of the plan did involve marriage but Ares gives Rose a year to learn about herself and decide if she’d like to remain married to him on the condition they meet each quarter.

During the quarterly meetings Ares learns Rose has taken up her dream and lives in Paris. She’s earning her own money and doesn’t touch his allowance. He also learns she’s not to be taken lightly and holds high standards of herself and him which Ares rises to meet. They meet at a selection Ares’s luxury homes around the world and each season brings with it excitement and the slow burn of their growing passion.

Ares is a tall, powerful and beautifully scared; inside and out. His military history has shaped him as has his connection with the Russian who he purchased Rose from. Rose is a beautifully brave and strong heroine who can’t remember her past until Ares investigates and reveals what happened to her. This branch of the story links back to Book #1, The Innocent’s One-Night Proposal, which is just as thrilling and exciting and it is heart warming when Rose and Castor are reunited.

As complications arise and explored Ares and Rose fall in love but is it enough to save their complicated marriage? Ares is burned by the past and it’s going to take one very, very outstanding heroine to break down his walls and love him inside and out. Rose has this in spades.

The Maid the Greek Married by Jackie Ashenden was full of escapes to exotic locations and cleverly engineered into the story. The plot was super exciting; I was down for a bit of bloodshed but the resolution was just as enjoyable. I really enjoyed the how each season played a part and how the book wasn’t taken up with the boring day to day life activities of both characters; every interaction was meaningful and mattered. I loved the connection to Book 1 and the resolution there. It was fast paced and I loved that the hero was imperfect in his looks.

Very much enjoyed and I recommend to anyone who likes some thrills in their Presents.
