The Man She Loves to Hate by Jessica Lemmon is the sixth book in the Texas Cattleman’s Club: The Wedding series, which are all written by different authors. While these characters may have been introduced in previous books, this one can be read as a standalone. I haven’t read the previous books, and while I felt like I was missing a little in regards to Rylee’s relationship with the bride and groom, it wasn’t enough to take away my overall enjoyment of the story.
In this addition to the series, wedding planner Rylee Meadows is determined to pull off the wedding of a celebrity couple with no issues, especially those that could be caused by a professional wedding crasher like Patrick “Trick” MacArthur. When she realizes he’s in town to crash the wedding, she makes a deal with him: he can film any of the pre-wedding preparations, including the rehearsal dinner, but he cannot film the wedding and he could attend as an invited guest.
Rylee figured Trick was just a prankster, but as they work together, she learns that there’s more to him than what she’s seen on his videos. Soon she finds herself enjoying herself more than she ever had on any of her previous jobs, and she finds herself falling for the charming Trick. But will she fully be able to let her guard down and give Trick a chance?
I liked Rylee and Trick together. Rylee is focused on work and making sure everything is perfect, while Trick is a lot more laid-back and willing to just go with the flow. There’s more to him than that though, and it turns out he’s a sweet, swoon-worthy character. It was fun to watch him break Rylee down by showing her that she doesn’t have to overthink everything and that she could have some fun. He also makes an attempt to prove to her that all men are not like her ex, who wanted her to give up her dreams for him.
The Man She Loves to Hate is a fun, opposites attract story that readers both new and old to the series will enjoy.

Wedding planner Rylee Meadows will not let professional wedding crasher Patrick “Trick” MacArthur ruin her latest celebrity nuptials. They strike a bargain—he’ll film the prewedding events and her reputation will remain intact. As they work together, Trick encourages Rylee to let loose, and she soon discovers the infamous social media bad boy is really charming…and oh-so tempting. But that doesn’t change the fact he simply can’t be trusted! Not as a wedding guest…nor with her heart—no matter the promises he’s made…
